Great brush!
I was nervous when I got this because the spikes are pure metal and although they are bending and fine, the end of the spikes are not "protected" and raw if that makes sense. I was nervous for my cat's skin but i just try and press not too hard.Well that is if I can brush her. She only want to scrub her face on it, as hard as she can. So that's cat's 5 star review I guess? The thing I really like about this product, is that when you brush your pet, the dead hair actually stay in the brush and don't fly everywhere. This is the reason why I wanted such a brush and it works perfectly in that aspect. The grip is really nicely made, it feels like it'll last a while.

Lovely size great product.
I always read Amazon reviews, my cat means everything to me. He was given to me as a "girl" "short haired tabby" like his mummy. Er, no. I have a beautiful long haired tabby whose coat ranges from cream velvet fur under his tummy to ginger on his back end and top of his legs an afro perm!! When he changed food to Iams from James Well Beloved, he was really squitty to the point I was so upset for him. Straight back on James and he will remain on it now he is a year old, but meanwhile he cannot cope with this amazing coat he has. His tail could be the envy of Basil Brush, but having said that a lot of grooming for such a little tongue. I have a "good" double sided brush, but it is so big, he sees it coming and its not long before he leaves for safer places (under the friggin bed!!).I got this brush based on the glowing reviews and the fact so many cats "loved" it, even the reluctant pussy cat; you can just hold it in your hand and brush carefully. My cat looks warely at me but despite himself; in a day he loved it; turned over for his tummy area - big honour. Thank you Rosewood; at this price I can afford to buy another before this one starts to wear. Thank you for all the reviews left by other cat lovers; I find them and Amazon invaluable. :)

Good little brush but don't like the bristles
Bought this brush for my little Daschund. He doesn't have long fur, but it's nice to give him a brush and make his fur come up lovely. Very easy to use and clean. The only thing I don't like is the bristles really, because they are pointy, Im always dubious about the pressure I apply so I'm overly gentle. But it's definitely a good brush for the price point.

Perfect for soft toys too!
I purchased this to fluff off my kids' soft toys and it works perfectly! Not just for real life animals 😼It's not self cleaning but I don't see that as a necessary feature especially as I am using on soft toys which don't tend to shed too much. Easy enough to clean anyway.

Sturdy brush, perhaps not for sensitive dogs.
The brush itself is sturdy, a nice colour and has many bristles. It’s also a good size, and it’s easy to grip the handle of the brush. However, my dog, who is a long haired Yorkie cross, really dislikes the brush. I only used it once on her and she detested it. I tested it on my arm and I could tell why immediately. The bristles are very scratchy. I know they’re wire, but I’ve bought brushes of this kind before and used them with no problem on her. Perhaps a plastic coating on the end of the bristles wouldn’t go amiss.Perhaps if you have a dog with a thick curly coat like a bichon or poodle, it would be more suitable and less uncomfortable.

A cat's best friend
I bought this to groom Tiddles. Tiddles was a stray cat and semi feral and as a result of living in a hedge bottom for two years, she had a very thick furry coat. She appeared in my front garden in August 2012 and seemed very interested in staying around. I got some cat biscuits and she was tempted but wouldn't come near me. After two months of coaxing she eventually came inside and has been with me ever since. She has a very nervous disposition but really I love her. Beryl my wife said she didn't want a cat because I would spend her Vodka allowance on Tiddles. She was right! I do! Over the last two years me and Tiddles have formed a very close bond and she supports me with my cross-dressing hobby. She keeps watch so Beryl doesn't catch me in her bloomers and cross your heart bra. Tiddles has been instrumental in getting me into complementary women's clothes and I was delighted when she teamed up a pink ra ra skirt with a yellow bolero and matching yellow fish net stockings, red patent belt and orange head band. I sat on my recliner while Tiddles fetched me a gin and tonic and a smidging of peanuts (after checking that Beryl was snoring in bed). While we watched a punch-up on East Enders I pretended I was Mae West and Tiddles addressed me as such. We have lovely evenings together and I show my appreciation of Tiddles by giving her a good going over with this wonderful brush. Thank you Rosewood Soft Salon Grooming Brush, you helped me and Tiddles to bond.

Loving this! Really impressed
This is one great brush!Item arrived on time and was well packaged.I use this once a week on 3 of my cats, followed by a de-shedding tool afterwards. I've got one persian, one ragdoll and one tortie. The persian hates being brushed so I've gone through a lot of purchases in trying to find something she'll like. This is one of the tools that leaves her (and the others) purring so I'm very, very happy about that! It gets tons of loose fur out and is nice and gentle for them. Like I said, I do follow this up with a de-shedding tool but this does a lot of the pre-work and gets out the bulk of the loose hair.Just a word of warning, be careful when you're cleaning the hair out. I made the mistake of catching one of the points in my nail bed and there was tons of blood! So basically, just don't be a clumsy fool like me and you'll be fine!!In summary though, I'm really, really happy with this and would fully recommend it.
