Should I get this with the kit lens? And what is the best lens to use for close portrait shots and some distant landscape?

It is universally acknowledged that the kit lens is poor, but it is cheap. Any web search will show you many awesome, reasonably priced alternatives. I use sigma, sony g, and (snagged a super discount) zeiss on mine. My dream would be the 6500, but instead of that extra grand I could snag another zeiss piece. If you read the guide, you can make this as manual as a pentax k1000 (mine was a minolta 200) and become the photographer (not the camera). The touch spot focus spot shoot is the kicker for my old eyes, and the only extra reason for me for the 6500 is the in-camera stabilization. Note I use mine for still images; video is a different critter.
