PureChimp Modern Matcha Set – Starter Kit with Electric Matcha Whisk, 50 Grams of Japanese Matcha, and Stainless Steel Measuring Spoon

This was the first time I've tried matcha, which is why I got a set. All my mugs are flat on the bottom, so I figured the traditional bamboo whisk would not work so well; a flat-bottomed frother seemed the perfect solution. The matcha itself I found to be tasty (not bitter) and smooth (no grit). The frother works great, but after using it several times, I noticed that the glaze on the inside of my mugs was getting damaged by it. (See the gray ring around the bottom in the photo?). There were no instructions saying not to let it touch the surface of the mug, but there should have been! (This was my first frother, too.) I highly recommend this set. Just be careful with the frother.

Happy with this product. The matcha isn't as bitter as others I've tried. The whisk is a little weak though.

We started using instant cappuccino recently, and my husband suggested we try matcha too. He loves it, but I'm pretty indifferent. I like it when I'm feeling like I need something a little healthier. BUT this little frothy mixer thing is brilliant. Makes my matcha or cappuccinos super frothy and amazing. I had no clue it was so simple to have beautiful velvety foaminess every single day, in a matter of seconds. Mixing powders in cold water first is key.Update: :( my little mixer doesn't work anymore.

Grab a cup and this is all you need to get started with matcha.Color is a bright green and the taste (or smell as probably few actually compared taste with grass?) is grassy as expected. I did get a few cups with a very slight pinch of bitterness. Perhaps it's from being in a transparent container that's had to go to the UK first. However, pricing for the jar individually is very competitive.The whisk works great and shows why it's needed. Even with the high RPMs, it takes a good 10+ seconds to get the mixture smooth. I sometimes need to graze the bottom of the cup to get rid of clumps (yea sifters might help but the extra step defeats the convenience of the electric system). Probably the only advantage of bamboo whisks is that it can have contact with the cup without the clanking sound of metal to hard surface.I do think they should've included a stand for the whisk; that would be more convenient (such kits are all about convenience!) than needing to lay it down sideways after usage.

I've recently been on a matcha kick. After trying this one I havent been able to go back to my old one because it tastes so bitter in comparison. This PureChimp matcha is really savory and I dont even use a sweetener with it.

I absolutely love this matcha and am so glad I found it!!! I just only wish it came in bigger sizes, I go through it so quick!!! You must buy if your looking for a good matcha!!! :)

This stopped working within a week or so of very light use. I contacted PureChimp support, which directed me to Amazon, and I circled in a loop between the two until PureChimp said my only option was to call Amazon. Who has time to stay on hold for a defective product that can't be worth more than a few bucks? The matcha itself is OK. But the electric whisk is junk - avoid it.
