Premier 6-1/2" x 1/4" Nap White Woven Mini Roller Cover, 10 Pack, Z-Pro 72572

I needed a small diameter roller in order to paint the facia boards on my house as the space between the roofing trim and the facia board is just about one inch and less in some areas. The 1/2 inch diameter of this roller worked just fine and resulted in a very professional finish.

Nice size. Small nap. Great for applying varnish to my art. Doesn't absorb too much.

Roller started shedding almost immediately upon application. Packaging says shed resistant, but it was bad even when roller was full of paint

On a ¼" nap roller, you're not going to get a lot of material absorption no mater what. But this weave takes what it can get and then all the fibers lay down and create a shell, if you will, on the roller. Keeping it loaded with fresh paint helps keep some texture but a lot of the rolling looks like you're using a hard plastic tube instead of a woven roller. That creates streaks instead of slight orange-peeling like a roller should.Just keep an eye on where you are working and don't be afraid to reload the roller with paint more often than usual.

They will shed on your work.

They pack them in the package so tight that when you take them out they are square. And don’t get round again. Quite troublesome to work with.

The first roller I used from the pack had a flat spot, so they left an uneven paint surface. That, and the rest of the ones I used started to unravel after 30 minutes. The rollers were ok for applying primer to doors, but I wouldn't use these for fine finish work.
