great clay hope my tips below help!
I have been using this clay to craft miniatures and other types of sculptures. This clay when cured properly is very flexible without cracking and is great for many different uses. My clay arrived fast and was in great condition not old or dry.TIPS FOR THOSE WITH ISSUESFor those state clay is hard to knead:Clay can be more difficult to work with in colder weather. The colder the harder the clay will get & the warmer it is the easier it is to work with. You can warm it in your hand, a cup of hot water (not boiled) or place it on a heating pad so it will soften up.If clay is dry:mix it with translucent liquid sculpey and if you dont have any of that a little bit of baby oil will work just do not use to much as it will break down the clay. I also use oil to smooth my sculptures and remove finger prints.Clay cracks after baking:if your clay is not flexible and easily breaks after baking you are not curing it properly. Your clay should be baked at 275F your oven may be set on this temperature but oven thermometers read incorrectly in a lot of cases. Buy a over thermometer to get a more accurate reading on your temp. Your clay should be baked at least an hour or more depending on how thick it is. It can be baked multiple times at this temperature and will not burn. I know the package states 30 minutes but I have been working with this clay for years the longer it is baked (at the correct temp) the stronger it will be.Your clay no matter how thin when cured correctly should bend without breaking (unless a lot of force is used on thicker pieces)Test baking once you have got the temperature on your oven correct:Roll out your clay and cut 6 pieces of 1 inch long by 1/2 inch wide slices. They should be as thick as a nickle. Number them 1-6 and then stick them all in the oven at the same time, set your timer for an hour. Remove one from the oven every 10 minutes. so you will have 1 piece baked for 10 minutes, 20 minutes, 30 minutes etc...when you have baked the last piece for an hour let them cool off. Then do a bend test with each one. Likely what will happen those pieces baked for 10-30 minutes will break when bending and those baked longer wont. This will allow you to see if your oven is getting hot enough and what amount of time will cure your clay best.I have attached some pictures of my correctly cured clay being bent. This is how you will know it is cooked correctly. When you are working with your sculptures you can put test clay strips in with it and take them out & do a bend test that way you will be able to gauge if your project is also being baked correctly. Hope these tips help!

Perfect! Not too soft and not too hard!
I have been experimenting with different types of sculpey and of course I started with Original Sculpey- This I found was too soft & picked up a ton of finger prints and is somewhat fragile after baking. I have also tried Super Sculpey- which leaves hardly any finger prints but is Very hard and takes a long time to condition. With that being said, I tried Premo. This is the perfect ‘in-between’ regular Sculpey and Super Sculpey. It’s not too soft but not too hard either and after all my experimenting, I would suggest going with this type! Especially if you’re making charms and little figurines that need to last and stay strong. For bigger projects I would suggest investing in Super Sculpey. But- Premo is perfect! It’s not too soft and crumbly like regular Sculpey and is not as hard as Super Sculpey. It also doesn’t hold fingerprints as bad as regular sculpey. This is more of a personal preference though! I have issues with my hands and this isn’t the softest clay to use but I like it’s strength and how it holds details. So, be patient and maybe invest in a conditioning machine or a Never Knead if you have issues with your hands like I do! Have fun!

Love Sculpey
My favorite polymer clay; easy to work with and this size was a deal for the price.

She's made all sorts of wonderful things using Sculpey's Premo
I bought this for my teenager who really loves to work with Sculpey. She runs out of black and white fairly often, so I decided to go for the bigger ones here on Amazon. Of course it helped that the price made it much more worth it to get the larger size than multiple of the smaller size. She's made all sorts of wonderful things using Sculpey's Premo! clay, and her creativity is just amazing to watch blossom in getting to work with her hands like this.I've made all of one thing with the clay, and though I only used a little bit of white. The clay is easy to work with, not super messy (though it will get your hands a little messy, it's not a disgusting overly sticky weird mess. You know what I mean?) and you can create some really awesome things. This came to us in good condition, well packaged, no issues. :)

My favorite
I make handmade polymer, clay earrings, and jewelry. After initially trying numerous brands, this has become my favorite. Sculpey premo and Sculpey iii meet every need I have and the colors are beautiful. It has become my go to clay

unworkable without mixing
I spent 30 minutes trying to condition this clay, and it literally WILL NOT work into a uniform consistency. It just stays hard clumps and cottage cheese like at best unless I mix it into softer worse clay. The white clay of this same exact line and brand is nowhere near as hard as this and will work fine but for some reason the black version of this clay is just??? rock solid. maybe if I had a pasta roller or something it'd be workable but even mixing this into other clays it just stays hard little chunks and mixing it with some other clay took another 15 minutes after the first 30 to get it to look like the second photo.

Thank you!
The website I normally order from is sold out due to the pandemic I guess. I was fearful to order clay from an amazon seller again, as last time the clay was a little dry and old. This clay surprised me with how fresh and soft it is. I get stuck with old clay a lot, and I normally just deal with it. This clay is a breeze to condition, it bakes as premo does normally. Thank you very much. I will consider ordering from this seller again.
