is it the same physical size as 1047R

The Part 1047R switch is the Sears Part #823871. I bought the switch listed here to fit my Sears Craftsman Shop Vac Model 113.170660 and it worked fine as a replacement for the 1047R. The only difference noticeable is the rocker portion of the switch is red on the 1047R. This switch is used on a number of Craftsman Shop Vacs.

Will this switch work on a Craftsman wet-dry vac model 113.178061 part number 73180?

I can't give you a positive answer, but I used my switch on a Rigid wet/dry vac, taking a chance that it would work!

What size are the connection spades on the back?

They are larger spades, I has some smaller blue spades (14ga) and had to swap to yellow spades (12-10ga)
