The Book of the Bird: Birds in Art Paperback – Illustrated, 9 May 2016

I bought this to complete my set (cats, dogs, birds). I like the variety and mix of art (paintings, prints, old, new). Bought for myself but would make an excellent gift for any art or animal lover.

This is a valuable small book to own, containing clear illustrations and paintings from a variety of artists.

Bought as a gift for my husband, who has read it from cover to cover several times. Lovely book, beautiful illustrations.

A beautiful book! I ordered this for my father's birthday and it lived up to expectations. He was very pleased with it.

I was drawn to this book by the Karl Martens magpie on the front cover,If you enjoy painting birds then I think you might find this book interesting as it covers various artists painting styles on this topic. It also includes on some a brief description of the artist and their work, but is mainly full of paintings.It is not a huge book as it measures about 7x5 but it really has packed a lot in.

Stunning illustrations and so many styles on show from many centuries. Just one drawback there appear to be notdetails of the size of the final artworks, medium used or supports. I was disappointed by the size of the book and thefact that it will not lie flat as you read. However I would not let this prevent me from buying it. I suppose having justbought a 'coffee table' book on art that was still in my mind. This book has really given me the push I need to get down to someof my own bird artwork.

I bought this twice, once for the book, the second time to use as prints for my room. Excellent condition
