Now you can have water from your tap that actually tastes good
The township water is heavy with chlorine. Makes my eyes smart to get in the shower. We have gold fish and tropical fish and even though there are tablets to eliminate the chlorine - I figure, if I won't drink it, I don't except my fish to like it either. Was purchasing six gallons a week to change several gallons in the fish tanks to keep ammonia levels down. We also have small dogs, and again, I would not offer this tap water to them, if I would not drink it myself. Therefore, was also buying bottled water for us and the dogs. Around l2 bottles a day.Now with the Corona Virus issue we have all been dealing with, water supply at the local supermarket limits amounts we may purchase, and many times there was no water at all on the shelves. Decided to order a Brita pitcher. We keep it in the refrigerator, but bring it out during the day to warm up to room temperature.I like the design and color of the pitcher. Nice that we can now use our tap water and have it used for more than dishes, laundry and bathroom. We can all enjoy it whether fish, dog or person. ::)

LOVE this water filter!
I had another brand for years, which was okay, but there were fragile parts that would break or come apart. That company went out of business. Then I bought the Brita "Grand" 10 cup water filter pitcher and I did not like that. The design of the pitcher and handle made it hard to hold and always feel heavy and awkward. This pitcher fixes that completely!!! The fill hatch on the Grand would pop off when filling unless you were very careful and would fall off as you poured out the last bit of water in the pitcher - NOT on this one!! :) That hatch is attached on this pitcher. It also pours with a clean stream of water that makes it easy to fill things and that stream doesn't fall apart as it did on both of my previous pitchers, including the Grand. Finally, there were reviews which warned that the water ran through quickly and so they assumed it wasn't filtering well. I suspect that those users did not line up the notches. When inserting the filter, you have to be careful to line it up correctly, then push it in snugly. Of course, if it's not in all the way and doesn't seal, then yes - it won't work well, but it's easy to do it correctly if you're aware. I recommend this pitcher without reservation! What a relief!!!

Best filter I have ever owed
We love love love this filter. We moved to Philadelphia and are used to well water. The water is hard, possible lead due to old pipes, and has a strong chlorine smell/ taste. We bought this after heavily reviewing and are very satisfied. We don’t smell or taste the chlorine and it really makes a difference. The design itself is fool proof. No way of water spilling into the container without going through the filter. The filter itself is quick. To the comments/ other reports about the unfiltered water dripping through... those people are just being messy. If you fill the water past the fill line or you turn on the water prior to putting the filter down... you will splash the water into the areas on the top that are open... this isn’t a design flaw.. it’s a user error. The long lasting filter will save you money.Would definitely recommend it if you have harsh/ heavy water. I only wish they could design a shower filter attachment!

Works well as a Pre-Filter for My Well Water
I use a "two-pitcher" approach for filtering my WELL water. The Brita pitcher works well as expected and is cleverly designed not to let water still waiting in the fill reservoir to pour out with the already filtered water. I use the Brita Longlast Water Filter and am pleased with it. It lasts about 3 weeks for me in my Well Water situation. Therefore the electronic filter indicator designed to let you know when to replace the filter is useless with my Well Water. I'm guessing city-supplied water would work more closely to specifications advertised by Brita. My Well Water doesn't have problematic bacteria or toxins (that I'm aware of) but the area around my Well contains much limestone, causing an increase in carbonate and bicarbonate particles. This alkaline water tastes bad, and over time some of my past family members suffered from kidney stones until changing to bottled water.I then pour the Brita-filtered water into a different pitcher with a much more elaborate (and expensive) filter to remove all remaining particles. The second pitcher filter lasts much longer as a result of 'pre-filtering' with the Brita pitcher.I know the "two-pitcher" sounds burdensome, but I'm really pleased. My drinking water tastes great (in my case, NO taste) so I'm more likely to drink more water . . . always a good thing, and I'm confident I'm not ingesting potentially harmful particles over an extended period of time.

I had the older model
I think the old model was called "Monterrey"? I got my First in lime green then in red.So i obviously like this pitcher filter. (I've had them for about 6 years & the last was in dire need of replacement). They've slightly changed the design & this is more "sleek" and also a more "mature" color palette. I really like that.Other than that - not much has changed in those years. I can assure you the back has always dripped if you overfill. I can also assure you that the indicator light is an oddly useless feature. I can also assure you this is a beautiful, functional, eco friendly, & worthwhile investment vs. Bottled water. And last assurance - if you find the right generic brita replacement filter you will pay much, much, much less for your filters and be just as happy, but keep track of how much youre filtering because they're not magic.I highly recommend this & am happy with my new grown up model.
