What would be the cheapest motherboard (ddr3) that would work with this cpu,and will my ddr3 8gb 1800mhz ram work with it?

These gen 7 intel cpu's have new DDR4 motherboards to work with though I've heard older DDR3 motherboards can take a gen 7 cpu after a bios update but you need a gen 6 cpu to do the bios update. Better off going for a new motherboard and ram. The Asus B250M-K motherboard is only Â£60-70 and you can pick up an 8GB DDR4 2400mhz stick for Â£40-50. Hope that helps.

Would this be better than fx 8350?

According to userbenchmark.com - as far as performance is concerened yes but only by about 6%
