James Herriot's Cat Stories Audio CD – Unabridged, November 1, 2004

He's a wonderful writer, and the stories are charming, from a simpler time. If the news these days is just too much, and you need to relax and escape, I highly recommended them for animal lovers, this one particularly for cat lovers. Actually, I highly recommend his books even if you don't need an escape, or aren't particularly an animal lover (though I highly recommend you take that up too!)

This small book of cat stories that James Herriot relates to us are all his experiences. They are all wonderful and include the actual facts behind Oscar, the cat, which is in Season Four of "'All Creatures Great and Small" .

I have enjoyed the All Creatures Great and Small series on TV, so was pleased to find this book for my young relative who is a cat lover. Filled with interesting stories, I think this book makes a fine gift. Recommended.

Wonderful stories.

I feel that the book was well written. I enjoyed having pictures in it though out the book. It gave more to the imagination. I only wish that the book was bigger and had more stories for price. I do feel it was a little pricey. But I enjoyed all of the stories.

Book was in top notch condition, not disappointed. Would use seller again.

Love most of this book and the paintings included are beautiful and so well done.Just a warning though, to those who might be sensitive in the way I am...About 2 of the stories do not have happy endings. I was in tears & miserable not expecting any painful endings from Mr. Herriot but only cheerful continuation of happy times and success stories. Granted, from all the sweet stories, few cause pain but there it is.

As touching as the other books of James Herriot. Loving it! It’s also more suitable for kids than the other ones.

The book is a collector’s item with beautiful illustrations. Herriot’s stories are also delightful and bring much needed comfort esp. in stressful times like the current pandemic. An ideal gift for cat / animal lovers!

J'ai découvert cet auteur grâce à Jenny Colgan qui en parle dans l'introduction du roman "Rosie Hopkins' Sweetshop of Dreams", car c'est un auteur qu'elle a beaucoup lu étant enfant, et dont elle s'inspire pour écrire. A la lecture de ce recueil, ce qui en ressort est une ambiance charmante, agréable, avec des personnages hauts en couleur (et les animaux aussi ! Ici, les chats), avec un personnage principal bien connu de tous : James Herriot, vétérinaire de campagne. Le livre se lit très vite, et est composé d'une dizaine d'histoires sur un (ou des) personnage(s) et leur(s) chat(s). C'est un recueil autobiographique, et l'auteur a écrit de nombreux livres sur son expérience de vétérinaire. Une bonne découverte ! Une lecture pour tous les âges, et tout public !

It's full of really sweet stories about my favourite animals - cats! it's light, cosy reading that often makes me smile. I don't think the stories are among James Herriot's funniest but they are very enjoyable. I bought an excellent used copy from Hurley Books which arrived promptly, exactly as described, & I'd recommend you try this Seller before anyone else (I've had some terrible experiences with used goods from other Sellers).
