Absolutely Nasty® Kakuro Level Four (Absolutely Nasty® Series)

Really hard but fun!
I have been doing these kakuro for a few years. I love math. But am not a genius. This level four was a bit too hard but i just cheat a little when I get stuck. I keep improving on my logic by doing these all the time. Great spiral book is pleasant to use. I went back to level 3 again to improve my skills and will do this level again sometime.

challenging
I was ready to challenge myself beyond the moderately difficult Kakuros. This did the trick!!! These are a challenge but definitely doable

Best kakuro book I’ve found.
I have been doing this same book over and over again for a few years now. I’ve tried a couple others, but they aren’t nearly as good. It’s so challenging, but each time, I get a little better. I’ve taken to dog-earring the pages when I don’t have to peek to solve the puzzle. It’s exceedingly diverting, even after all this time. (This is one of those times I am grateful that I DON’T have a photographic memory.:)

hardest and best puzzles yet
My favorite kakuro books are the Second-degree Black Belt and the Second-degree Brown Belt books which up to now were the best and the hardest Kakuro books. The present book, Absolutely Nasty Kakuro Level Four, is harder than these: I solve better than 9 out of 10 of the (2nd-degree) Brown and Black Belt books, but so far have only been able to solve 2 out of the first 6 puzzles I've tried from this new book. The quality of paper used for this new series is even better than that used for the Brown and Black belt books. Also, the puzzles are even larger (by 1 additional square across, and 2 additional squares down). The spiral binding is also nice. So, altogether, these new books set a new standard of excellence for Kakuro books!

This is by far the best Kakuro Series on the market (at least that i have been able to find).I got introduced to kakuro through one of those generic easy > medium > hard books and instantly liked it. I bought the mensa kakuro book, which turned out to be a great book. Then came the black belt and 2nd degree black belts, also great kakuro books. And now the Absolutely Nasty Kakuro series. I bought level 4 first. Lots of math calculations in order to solve, but not impossible! After i completed level 4 i read someones review that level 3 is challenging as well, so bought it and they were right. It is different than level 4 but by no means easy. Because of a lack of other options on the market i just bought level 4 again. What makes the Mensa, Black Belt, and Absolutely Nasty books so great? one puzzle per page, large print, and the pages are big enough to add notes to them in order to solve the puzzles. If you love Kakuro, try out these books!

Spiral binding
I have been doing various Absolutely Nasty for several years. A must for me is the spiral binding! Also nice, white pages to enable erasure. Level 4 can definitely stump me. One note...they do start out at a very difficult level and stays consistent throughout; it does not offer variety in different methods or combinations.

Tough puzzles
I abandoned many of these puzzles when I got stuck. Now I go back to the unfinished ones as I have time, and work them to the end. That usually involves a crib or two.

Crazy difficult but fun
I’m slogging through number 48 in this book right now. These puzzles are very entertaining but they really are insanely difficult. Some In this book have taken me 3 or 4 days to finally find that magic number that clears the way for a solution. My mind is continually challenged by th logical possibilities! But what will I do when I finish this book?

I am SO addicted to these puzzles!
Way better than Sudoku. And these are a great challenge for people who have been doing these puzzles for decades, like I have.

Beautiful and nasty
As expected, these puzzles certainly are "absolutely nasty", but what a delicious nastiness indeed. Like level three in this series, the grids are very open in their layout and most challenging, partly because of this. It even seems that you'll have to resort to trial and error in a few instances. That, or I might just have been unobservant from time to time. Some of the increased difficulty is due to the fact that level four puzzles make use of sums of all nine digits, often placed quite near each other. As a whole, I don't think kakuro can get more challenging and aesthetically satisfying at the same time than this. Whole-heartedly recommended.

Harder than I thought!
Remember Pinball Wizard?I thought I was one too with Kakuro AN4.Be ready to work all your learned skills. Keep your numbering very neat and don’t overfill. Work progressively from low hanging fruit, Thete are few gimmes. I oftennredraw the end game corners to clarify the mess! Good luck, you’ll need it. I’ve done only 4 sets so far!
