Bought for my Sony AX700 Camcorder.
Absolutely brilliant for recording myself singing and playing the guitar through the Bose S1 pro with an sm57 beta microphone in front of the Bose fed into this brilliant little device. It definitely cuts down on that annoying hiss that you normally get in more quieter moments of recording with just your camcorder alone. Yes it’s expensive, no doubt about that but the results make it worth every penny. I would definitely recommend to anyone who owns the Sony AX700 4K Camcorder. It will even work great with a wireless microphone system too as I have discovered during my testings of the device. Just make sure that you lower the recording levels on your camcorder itself before using the device. Then adjust your levels on the device itself until you’re satisfied with the audio quality you are getting. So glad I decided to bite the bullet and buy it after giving it a lot of thought. Very pleased with this purchase.

Better than the K2M but somewhat over priced
Certainly a bit better build than the K2M. Good sound easy to use and connect Mic mount does not rattle like the K2M. Do ask yourself would an external recorder be better tool for your job. If not buy this as it works fine on Sony Cameras. Downside so far was that SONY UK refused to honour my CASH BACK Claim because I bought from Amazon.

Good bit of kit!
Excellent, though a little overpriced bit of kit, that has given my Sony A7siii and a6600 the equivalent quality audio options as the much more expensive FX cine camera range. Works flawlessly with these models and the hot shoe extender attachment is a very useful addition compared to the K2M. The K3M also has the option to send the signal digitally to the A7siii, however be aware that the 24 bit option encodes in a format that is currently not recognised by the majority of editing software, bizarrely also including Sony’s own Catalyst Browse. Hopefully this will be addressed soon in upcoming updates. It’s a shame the unit isn’t available without the included microphone. It’s a decent mic, however I already own the superior Røde NTG3 so it won’t get much use unfortunately. If you want high quality XLR straight into camera to help your workflow, I would highly recommend this unit.

Great connectivity, flimsy build quality
This allows me to get four channels of digital audio into my Sony A7siii, which is such a valuable feature for me. I’m also able to easily control levels manually rather than through the camera menus. Unfortunately the build quality, particularly the ‘neck’ which connects to the camera hotshoe is easily broken and not easily repaired. Annoyingly, this is the second one of these have had to buy in the last six months, but it is such an essential piece of kit for me so I just have to deal with it!
