Set of 2 Vidalia Chop Wizard with Chefwing Cutting Board

After having bought one of these years ago, I took it to our condo when visiting my daughter at Christmas. Well, SHE loved it so I left it with her. Came home and bought this set of two- one to give a girlfriend that is always making great homemade salsa and one to replace mine. If you love to cook, but hate to prep, this is what you need- also small enough and easy to store. Works great- have chopped onions, green peppers, tomatoes, celery, carrots (will make julienne strips if you place veggies right) and have used it to chop up fruit for a fruit salad! I will never be without my Chop Wizard again- but beware of other brands- they don't work as well. Bought a cheaper one first years ago- it ended up in the trash! Saw these review on the Washington DC news- "But, does it work? " YES IT DOED!

Because of severe arthritis in hands and wrists, I find a different way to use many things, This Vidalia chopper works for me because it's shape is long enough to place both forearms across the top and apply the pressure of my weight straight down and evenly on both sides.. A quick, steady motion pushes the food right through the cutting blades with a snapping sound. I believe this modified usage avoids many of the problems others seem to have, because it may avoid uneven or possibly twisting forces or torque, which may be the cause of breakage. It is an inexpensive device that I don't expect to last forever, but is worth the cost for me.

I was a little skeptical about this product but I am please to tell you that it worked just like it said it would. I chopped up potatoes for soup in less than half the time I normally would. Since this was the first time I used it I can't say if the blades will stay sharp over time.

I love using my chop wizard. It gives beautifully uniform veggies and makes food prep go so much faster. My only complaint is that everyone I know that owns one has experienced breakage on the base piece that holds the lid. So, expect to have to replace it in a year if you use it much.

It's a great system. But we learned with the old one that you don't want to chop Oreos for cookies and cream ice cream on the small grid. It cracked the clear base. That's why we bought two more.
