One of the best handhelds of its kind - Nearly perfect, but has some flaws that hold it back.
Short version:The RG351 is an impressive little gadget, but you have to invest some time and energy into it to bring out its real potential. While It has some flaws that prevent it from being the king of emulator-centric handhelds, there's not really a 'better' option at this price point. The RG350m and Retroid Pocket 2 are both comparable challengers you might consider, depending on your preferences and wants - but for me, the RG351p is the one I keep going back to.I'm a huge fan of these little emulator handheld devices. They're not expensive, are fun to use for gaming and as unique little computing platforms with a lot of potential. But up until recently, there weren't many satisfying options. I have several, but overall I think this might subjectively be the best of the bunch. On paper, the RG351p might seem less impressive than some of its peers but there are certain quality of life features that more than make up for it and while the RK3326 platform is still fairly new, the community that is growing around it is enthusiastic and we've already seen a lot of performance gains across nearly every console, and even a few new ports and homebrews on both stock and custom firmware. If you already have an RG350M, you might want to skip this one, though. The RG351P is a very 'lateral' sort of upgrade for now. While it has a lot more power under the hood than its predecessors and it excels in places where the RG350M struggled, it's still not quite enough to make the 'new' emulated systems very playable, and you lose the HDMI out port (not a huge loss, but if you used yours to feed streams, you may miss it.). Additionally, due to what was likely a manufacturing oversight, the speaker wires are not shielded at all so while the wifi works, you hear some pops and clicks through the speakers when it's communicating. The included wifi dongle works perfectly fine however a built-in solution would have been better. The audio interference is present regardless of whether you have a model with built-in wifi, are using the included dongle, or have soldered an adapter into place. This is an easy problem to fix by adding some shielding to the speaker wires. There are some pros and cons relative to other devices:Where it is comparable to others:The screen is bright and crisp, and the colors are vivid. No 'sweet spot' because it looks fine from all angles. Minimal-to-no ghosting. Responsive - no input delay that I could detect, so action games are 100% playable.Where it wins vs others:- Control feel and overall build quality is significantly better. I can't stress how 'legit' this handheld feels, even compared to other Anbernic devices. If you remember the original gameboy advance, it's about that level of sturdy.- D-pad and face buttons use rubber domes rather than 'clicky' switches, which allow for longer sessions without fatigue; shoulder buttons are clicky but quiet and require little force.- Emulelec/EmulationStation are set up in a way that makes setting universal options much easier than the OpenDinguX or Android solutions are- You can crack open the RG351p easily. If you're into modding, this is your time to shine! the RP2 is a bit more 'closed off'. Analog sticks on the RG351p are on separate boards, which means they could hypothetically be removed, replaced or modified with relative ease.- Two nintendo switch style analog sticks, that can be clicked for L3/R3 - great for PS1 games as well as handling emulator functions. Same as the RG350M, and significantly better than the awkward hybrid solution used by the RP2 (the RP2s feature one non-clicking analog stick and one PSP style 'slider' that feels awful.)- Long, narrow design is more pocketable- Faster, more powerful than the RG350m means better performance on PSX and SNES, can usually support some shaders without performance impact.- Though theme customizing isn't easy on any device, it's substantially easier here than with the RP2. I personally find the RG351p a bit more 'quick' for pick-up-and-play sessions than the GR350m or RP2. Turn it on, wait 5-10 seconds, and within 3-4 button presses, I'm in game.Where it loses vs. others- The 'side-by-side' LR1/2 layout is not ideal. It works without too much fuss but moving to a more conventional 4 shoulder button layout would be a big plus for anbernic.- Smaller, lower res screen than both the RP2 and RG350m. It's also a 3:2 widescreen aspect ratio, which means that aside from PSP or GBA games, you lose screen space.- Smaller vertical height might make the RG351p somewhat awkward for people with larger hands- Custom firmware might be more difficult to manage than the more familiar Android used by the RP2, though easier to manage than the OpenDinguX base used by the RG350- While more powerful than the RG350m, it's slightly less muscular than the RP2, which generally gives provides slightly performance for Saturn, Dreamcast, n64, and PSP games. The RP2 particularly excels with N64.- RP2 runs on the very familiar android OS. While it lacks a touchscreen for navigability, this **really** opens up the device compared to Anbernic's offerings. (However, lacking a touchscreen the RG2 doesn't benefit from its android base as much as it could. It's probably very possible to install a digitizer in one however.)Other notes:- Default display options look bad. Be sure you update your config files to account for this. RG scaling adds almost no performance impact and looks better than nearest-neighbor or bilinear filters.- 3:2 aspect ratio is less than ideal for non-GBA games. This doesn't bother me, but for some might be the deciding factor- PSP, DC, Saturn, and N64 performance is typically somewhat subpar, though this *may* improve with time. PSP performance is already improved with an firmware update, as well as custom firmwares.

Finally the gaming console I can recommend to other people
I am fairly new to the emulation gaming console. Neogeo Mini would be the only other console I have that is similar to this. For the console itself, it is very easy to pick up and play out of the box.Other similar consoles require you to spend certain amount of time to adjust the settings and putting in the games you want. RG351P let you play without adjusting any settings. As for the seller, I was little skeptical since there wasn't any reviews left. However I am very happy with the product as it came clean with next day delivery. For people who are curious about emulations, RG351P would be the great start.Ps. I just received the console today so I will try to leave more details after I spend certain amount of time.*November 30th edit:There was an issue with the joystick previously. However the company was kind enough to provide the replacement, and I am happy to say it works great again. There has been couple of firmware updates which you can find easily if google it.With the updated firmware, game play has been improved and interface usability has vastly improved as well.I would definitely recommend this over any other emulator consoles.

Item arrived as described!
I saw a few negative reviews after I had made my purchase but luckily for me my item arrived as it was described and I even got a couple extra bonuses thrown in for free! Came with a nice screen protector that appears to be glass due to the thickness and a WiFi dongle to transfer games. This is a high quality system. You can tell by the craftmanship they put a lot of effort into making this device. Button function as they should and the dual-analog sticks can be pushed in to function as L3 and R3 buttons, great for many games and emulators.System came with some preloaded games and a decent charge so I was able to get up in running immediately. Games run really good and I didn't notice any screen-tearing. Retro Arch is built in and is the main heart of the emulation, and if you know anything about emulation then you know Retro Arch is king. Comes preloaded with Emulec but you can download other OSs if you want to.Overall everything works as described and I've had no issues so far. Buttons work great, charging works, and the screen is nice and crisp. No complaints here. This is a 5 out of 5 stars system.

Cannot connect to wifi, defective unit?
My unit is unable to connect to any wifi signal. The included wifi dongle sees the channels but is not able to connect. I've tried using other wifi dongles and had the same issues. Tried multiple OS (arkOS, and elec) and all had the same issue.Possible that I received a defective RG351P? The wifi dongles work when I plug them into my laptop, so I can definitely rule that out. I also used two different OTG adapters as well.

Great, better than the retroid pocket 2
I love this thing. I also have the retroid pocket 2 but I prefer this. It's way more straight forward to use, comes loaded to the brim, and is built better than the retroid. The r3 and l3 work great and both sticks feel good to use (things the rp2 don't have). Also the position of the controls, like the start and select buttons, are better. It's also way easier than the rp2 to load your game collections into. The problem I had is that mine came with a WiFi dongle and it didn't work. I want to scrape the collection but can't without buying a new dongle for it. I wish they had kept the internal wifi.
