The Neat Company 00009 Travel Case for NeatCo Mobile Scanners Black

Note: this review is applicable to only those looking for a case for Kodak P811R scanner. I am not using this for neat scanner!!!-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------I took a risk and bought this for my new Kodak P811R Personal Photo & Negative Scanner and magically it just fitted right into this case. I read one of the reviewer's comments that the inside of this case is 11 X 2 X 2 which was extremely useful in confirming that it may work.Some minor compromises (minor IMO only - for others this may be major):1. The top lid has a mesh to house the charger and probably some accessories that come with Neat scanner. that kind of obstructs the closing of the lid with Kodak scanner in there. The remaining half that does not have the mesh sits with some gap on the roof which is good. So I had to cut the mesh and do away with it and now it sits perfectly!2. Obviously from the above, you might have guessed by now - you cannot keep any thick accessory parts inside this case once the scanner is in. Ofcourse there is a slight gap in which you can place small flat things like memory card, pen or probably some small memory card pouch as well. A small fabric cushioning lid separates scanner from rest of the stuff.Overall, this is a great sturdy case that holds my scanner tight without movement and is hard enough to withstand any impacts. I have to carry the power chord & other accessories outside of the case but I am okay with that as long as scanner is well protected!! I am loving this little wonder!! :)

The case is well made and compact. Firm shell with a non-slip tightly woven nylon fabric glued onto the shell. Fabric acts as the hinge to connect the two halves. Felt type material inside. Nylon zippered closure. Has an elastic strap in each half of the shell to hold the scanner, cable, cleaning cloth, etc., in place. Separating the two halves is a padded flap. The case is rigid, but could be crushed with moderate force such as accidentally setting on it. And it has a 10 year warranty, you don't see that much.I bought a portable hand held Wand Scanner at sears, similar to:  VuPoint Solutions Magic Wand Portable Scanner (PDS-ST410-VP) . And needed a case to protect it while carrying it around to business meetings, library, etc.. Since all these Wand Scanners are about the same size, this case was a perfect fit.I also have the NeatReceipts Mobile scanner, similar to:  NeatReceipts Mobile Scanner and Digital Filing System , that came with its own case. I don't consider it 'mobile' because it has to be plugged into my desktop computer with the accompanying software running to operate. That's why I bought a Wand Scanner and I knew I was going to be satisfied with the quality of this Neat brand accessory case. The first one is about 5 years old and is holding up nicely.The cost or value of the case, I feel should be around $13 - $15. I bought this to protect my NeatReceipts Mobile Scanner during travel. For everyday commutes to and from the office, it is more than adequate. It is even good enough to keep the scanner in a checked bag for air travel, providing you place it among some clothes. It has a pocket on one side that fits the scanner snugly, and the other side has a mesh pocket to hold the USB cable. There is a flap between the sides to keep them separated.While the case is tough, it is not impervious. I would not trust it to protect from a significant drop. It will deform with enough pressure, so placing very heavy objects on it is not recommended.

I own a NeatReceipts 4.0 Mobile Scanner and I love it! I just got it and I already am very pleased with it. I wanted to buy a case for it, so that it stays safe and protected. I was quite skeptical about purchasing this case since it was pretty pricey, I still think it is and should be more like $12.99. The case is very durable and it cannot be flexed at all. This is made of a strong material that you can rely on to not get damaged.

My Adesso Scanner came with a velvet drawstring bag. I wanted something more substantial, and thought this case might work. The quoted dimensions are slightly off. The outside dimensions are actually 11.5 X 2.5 X 2.2 none is 3.2The inner dimensions are 11 X 2 X 2 My Adesso Scanner is 10.75L X 1.8W X 1.25H so it fits perfectly. The case opens up into 2 hinged halves. Each half is about 1 inch deep. Each half has a 1 inch wide elastic band across the middle, and there is a sewn-in flap that protects one half from the other when closed. The scanner cable fits in the opposite half from the scanner and there is still room for some small accessories. All-in-all, I am VERY happy with this case.,It suits my needs perfectly/

Heavy duty material for the exterior case, but the ultra fine toothed zipper concerns me. The "teeth" may separate ( without unzipping it) under stress. The Neat reader fits perfecly in the pocket, however it does put pressure on the unit when zipped shut. I hope this does not damage the optical reader, so I leave the white cardboard paper insert that came with the Neat reader, inserted into the sheet feed area to protect the optical glass. Worth the money!

I bought two of these, one for myself and one for my fiancé. We both are happy with the protection. The case is a little bigger than I anticipated, but also has a good amount of space for the cord. Overall I feel better about putting the neat receipt in my checked or carryon luggage, as the sleeve it comes with does not have any impact protection. I would definitely buy again and recommend this product.
