One size does not fit all
I just put the Pro Tech Achilles Support on and I thought my ankle is almost too big for this. My ankle at the base is 11 inches around and I have less than an inch of velcro left with a sock on. I would say if your base of your ankle is bigger than 11 inches do not buy it......I will wait and see if this helps me or not....I just wish they came in different sizes....

Not so helpful for me
I have calcific tendonosis in both Achilles and after much research, I bought these with high hopes. I wore them religiously for over 4 months with NO change whatsoever. Tried with and without heel cups in my hiking boots, running shoes (I don't run, though)...even tried them with my Teva sandals this summer. No go. We're now moving on to night-time heel splints, Tramadol and Lido-derm patches. I had high hopes for these tendon supports...and for those that think that (or have been told) being heavy causes this, no, not so much. I had gastric bypass and have lost over 80 pounds since trying these out. Still no go.

Worked for me
My podiatrist diagnosed me with achilles tendonitis and sold me an expensive ankle brace with lots of straps. It worked pretty well, but it was such a pain to put it on, adjust it just right, and then go, that I found myself not using it.This support is much better. It takes no longer to put it on than a sock, and it provides the right compression on my tendon to let my ankle heal itself. I've been wearing it for two weeks now, and the daily pain I was having is basically gone again. The size is ok for me, it's tight but not uncomfortably so. I could see it being a problem if you have larger ankles. If you're looking for a sizing guide: the neoprene part that wraps around your ankle is 10 inches long without stretching, plus the velcro overlap. It can stretch to 12 inches, or you can get another 3/4 inch by not completely overlapping the velcro. Either way, it won't be as comfortable. My ankle is 9.5 inches in circumference, and I find it comfortable to wear every day.

Worked better than expected!
I injured my Achilles tendon a few weeks ago and was reduced to using the elliptical machine. I'm not a huge fan of elliptical as I don't get the workout I need so I started searching for something to help with my tendon. I tried sports tape, other ankle type braces and stretching really good and couldn't get 2 minutes on a run without immediate pain.I received the Pro-Tec Achilles Tendon Support on Saturday (6/26) and ran for 30 minutes today! This support worked better than I had hoped! I had no pain at all in my Achilles tendon whatsoever. The brace has a small square pad that's puts pressure on the tendon which seemed to really help. It fitsa little snug, but it has to in order to support your ankle and tendon area. So expect it to be tight, but it will work! I highly recommend buying this!

In theory should work
In theory this device should help you keep your Achilles tendon shortened to assist you in healing tendinosis/tendinitis. But because you can't really "anchor" the ankle strap, no matter how tight you make it, the strap had the tendency to move around and couldn't provide the tension to maintain the shortening of the tendon. Unfortunately, I had to go back to taping my foot and a ankle to get the required support.

It helped me a lot...with a modification
After many years of running, I developed Achilles tendonitis which yoga and orthotics didn't help. This simple device seems to make all the difference and I'm running again after 2+ years of pain. However, I initially used the strap that goes under your heel and this seemed to make it worse! It made the tendon feel sore and ache. Upon the suggestion of my son, I stopped using the heel strap altogether and it works like a charm now! I stared wearing it 7 days a week, but now the pain is better and I only use it for the 1 hr/day that I run. Try it out!Daniel

Excellent Product. I highly recommend it.
I've been suffering chronic achilles tendinitis for more than a year due to running. I've tried with Polidocanol injection and excentric stretches. I've read a lot about this problem, and researchers agree that this problem is not well understood, so it is hard to tell which is the best treatment. Finally, I bought this achilles support and it was incredible !!!. It really worked for me. I reconize that I'm a little overweight, so running didn't help to heal my tendon, but this product decreased the pain in my feet.Of course, good stretches(excentric) and loose weight (in my case) are also welcome.

One Star
Do not feel the relief or support that other reviews rave about. Feels bulky, runs small in size.
