Buy the toy, but throw out the ribbons!
This toy comes with a few extra items you can attach to the wire, including a couple of pieces of narrow ribbon. Get rid of the ribbon immediately! If cats eat ribbon, string, thread, or yarn (which they do, for whatever reason), it can get tangled in their intestines and strangle parts of the intestine, depriving it of blood supply. This is a life-threatening situation and can require surgery to save the life of the cat. Keep all string-like items away from your cat!My cat loves this toy! It’s still in good shape after a month of hard play. I love the fact that it turns itself off and then back on again a while. That matches the cat’s natural pattern of fierce play for a while, then a period of down time. The automatic off and on feature means that I don’t have to chase down a buzzing toy that the cat has walked away from. It holds a charge for a good long time. The USB charging is definitely better than having to constantly feed it batteries.Drawbacks: it is kind of noisy. When it’s on, even if it’s not moving and the cat is ignoring it, it makes a mechanical noise that gets on my nerves after a while — which is when I hook it up to the charger or turn it off. Also, it gets stuck under things frequently. The base doesn’t get stuck. It’s good at maneuvering out of places. It’s the wire on top that gets stuck under things like the coffee table or the flaps of an open box. It’s easy to release once you know it’s gotten stuck, but it may have wandered somewhere out of sight, so you don’t always know when it’s stuck. On the whole, this was a good purchase. It has pretty much kept my perpetual motion cat occupied for a month, and isn’t noticeably the worse for wear. I haven’t had to drag out any other toys. This is the only toy she’s played with since it came out of the box.Full: disclosure: I have three cats, and two of them rarely play with this toy, but I expected that. One is middle-aged and fairly sedate, while the other one, the sister of perpetual motion cat, is a 24/7 lap cat who rarely plays with anything. Like T.S. Eliot’s Gumbie cat, she sits and sits and sits and sits, and is not tempted by toys of any sort.EDITED TO ADD: This toy lasted two months to the day before the wire broke right where it was attached to the plastic thing at the top of the toy. My cat likes it enough that I ordered replacement wires. Let’s hope they last at least as long.

Experiment with the wire!
The product recommends straightening out the metal wire if it's a bit sloped when received - my cat really wasn't a fan of this toy the first few times I turned it on for her, but then I realized that she actually preferred it with the wire less straight!Straightened out, it wiggles around in a different way and I think the balance of the toy being different leads to it making more noise on hardwood floors. I've got it at a slope now that I'd say is probably around a 45 degree angle instead, and with a ribbon attached to the end it allows that ribbon to drag around the floor MUCH more instead of just spinning it in loops around the wire.If your cat really enjoys chasing string or ribbon I'd recommend letting the wire in this toy hang lower rather than trying to straighten it. My somewhat skittish cat has really taken to it now like this!

Super fun, until it "chased" her
The toy is fun for cats. We have one cat who constantly wants to play, to the point where she gets sad if we are working and can't. We thought this was the solution. Unfortunately part of her play is catching the toy, feather, ball, whatever and then leading us through the house. It feels like she is taking us for a walk. When she took this toy for a walk, it made noise dragging, it scared the bejeezus out of her, she ran faster to get away (while she still had hold of it). So as far as she's concerned, it attacked her. This is just her perception, the toy was operating as it should, there was not an actual attack or malfunction. We left the toy put away for a couple of weeks to get over the perceived "trauma" but when we took it out again today, she ran and sat behind her cat tree hiding from it, even after it was put away.If it had a way to fasten to a floor, or couch leg, or something to keep it from "chasing" it would be perfect. I was so happy to see her playing the first time we used it, and I am sad to knock one star off the rating, but I want other pet parents to be aware of their animals do something similar. If we can get her over her fear, we may look at ways to fasten this, as the toy was super fun for about 5 minutes.

Worth it
I don't normally leave don't normally leave reviews on things, but pretty sure my cat loves this toy more than life itself. She is absolutely obsessed, it was worth every penny! Wish it turned on a little more often, but she has learned to play with it even if its not on

Super fast moving
To fast moving. It just shakes and wobbles too fast and too often to even get my cats attention. And if you don’t use the sticky thing at the bottom, it will slide all over the living room, even on a rug. My cat lost interest.

Cats and kittens alike love this toy
Cats love it! My own cats, and the cats and kittens at the shelter where I volunteer. Even if it's not turned on they play with it. When it is "on" it goes inactive if the cat is not playing with it, to save battery. And occasionally turns itself on to tease a cat to play with it. I leave it on during the day so my fat cat can get some exercise, and turn it off at night... so he can get some rest!

My cat's favorite toy!
The media could not be loaded. This is a video of my cat playing with this toy once I added the feathers. She's generally a chill cat, but she loves to play with this! She'll even drag it around the house, which she rarely does with anything! I myself like how it will just go off randomly for a few minutes every so often, as I have long shifts at work where I feel she isn't stimulated enough. The feathers did come off with play, so I would be careful if your cat likes to swallow those. Otherwise, I've had no issues with its durability. It's easy to charge and holds it's charge pretty well. For me, I can easily push the button to turn it on with my toe, but I'm sure you can pick it up by the wire if you need to bend down to grab it. I bought this about a month ago and my cat still has a fun time every time it turns on! Would definitely recommend!
