I wish I had discovered this years ago! I have a young cat I rescued from the ghetto at 3 weeks old. She is one year now and is gradually getting used to me petting and combing her. She has always viewed my hands as her personal playthings. (my fault cuz that's how I played with her as an infant.) So when I discovered a mat under her chin, I had no idea how I could get her to relax enough to have me remove it. Then I saw this dematting comb on Amazon and thought I'd give it a try. I grabbed her by the scruff, lifted her chin, and applied the comb. She let out one little protest, while I tugged at the mat, and the whole thing came right off! She has medium long hair. My other cat is part Persian with long hair, so this tool is going to be invaluable for me. In addition, my neighbor has a senior cat who does not like her to touch him much anymore and his back end has lots of mats because, as happens to our senior felines, he is no longer meticulous about grooming himself. I gave her the comb and she snagged a mat right away. She will have to get one at a time with long breaks in between, but we are both so delighted with this wonderful invention.

I have purchased a ton of things from Amazon over the years, but I have to say, this is the first purchase that blew my expectations away. I have two cats, a long haired, Joey, and his tabby sister, Phoebe. I have never combed Phoebe much bc she doesn't really need it. I have combed Joey over the years with a few different style combs and brushes. He still shed a ton all over the house, and had hairballs. I randomly saw this product, read the reviews, and decided to give it a try. I am SO glad I did. Joey's hair has never come off so easily and in such large quantities! He doesn't mind the brushing, and after literally just a few minutes, I have a huge pile of fur off of him. The greatest problem with this product is where to use it, because it does its job so well. I can't do it outside bc he's an indoor only cat, so whatever room I do it in, tends to have quite a bit of hair flying around. That said, it's better than all over the house. I would highly recommend this product to anyone with a long haired cat. It even got out some mats without much of a fuss from him.

I have pomeranians and Scottish fold kitties...both are creatures notorious for their undercoats and shedding. I have a number of combs and brushes which have worked adequately but are all universally despised by my animals. On the lookout for a more effective tool, and considering the very negative reviews of an intriguing battery-powered tangle remover, I gave this one a shot.It is much better than any other grooming tool I've owned, on both species. Its teeth are curved and not at all sharp, unlike some similar tools that will give memorable cuts when reaching for them in a drawer. My furry children protest as much as they always do when accosted by handheld tools but I know they're only objecting to the notion of needing more maintanence than they are capable of providing themselves. It is not intended to address tangles but can help in digging into them when used gently.The amount of hair removed is dramatic so avoid using this tool near ceiling fans or on furniture that's already attractive to fur as it is. Frequent use is also wise to desensitize your fluffy family members to the tool and to make the amount of hair removed more manageable.

Excellent dematting tool. My cat had some serious mats and the CeleMoon was extremely helpful in being able to get through the mats gently. I could not have done it without using TropiClean Tangle Remover. It does not remove the tangles by itself but loosens them enough to get the CeleMoon through the mat.

I'll admit, I was skeptical at first (bc it looks kind of scary and I didn't want it to hurt my boy) but it works great! Buddy had a few matts and this comb got them right out and Buddy didn't even flinch. Brushing him is always a chore bc he HATES being brushed. Can't even bride him with treats bc he's too smart but he doesn't mind this at all.

I love the Dematting Rake Comb. I have 4 indoor cats and I also feed many outdoor cats. They are not feral cats but are cats that have been left behind because they would not be safe at their new locations due to mountain lions/coyotes. I promised their former owners that I would make sure to take care of them and call them if I needed anything.However, 3 of the cats are males w/long hair & they do get matted & the hair retains objects. I love the Comb because it takes care of the matting/hairball problems without harming the animal & without shaving it. So I sit on my front porch bench & comb the animals, almost taking handfuls of matted or unneeded hair off of them. I thank you for such a great, sturdy product! The cats love it too, it doesn't hurt them and they enjoy getting brushed, they like it using either side too!The product was received very quickly and was easy to open.

I got this product because I have a short haired cat who had been getting matted fur around his belly as he's gotten older. This was easy to use, helpful, and it didn't seem to cause any pain or discomfort for my cat. I also liked the angle of the handle, the brush I bought before this one was built more like a tooth brush and could only comfortably be used at one angle and if I needed to brush his other side, which I did, I had to hold it by the head of the brush which got old fast.

This is a great tool! I use this on a maltichon and a spitz it works great on both animals. I don’t use this on short hair dogs. I don’t use much pressure when I comb over the dogs hair as it can pull if you try to grab too much hair at once. If you use it gently over and over you’ll get wonderful results and the dogs won’t mind it.

It is not good for my Maremma his under coat is like a kevlar vest. It will not cut. I no longer use it and have gone back to my previous method.
