Meinl PercussionShaker Luis Conte - Soft Studio - Artist Series Double Shaker - 17 cm Length - Plastic, Red (SH5R)

I love the sound of this shaker - it is a good volume for reasonable sized gigs however can be a bit harsh in an acoustic setting (would recommend the studio version instead). The definition is great and it is extremely easy to control for complicated rhythms. The only down side is that the construction is not very robust, it being made of fairly thin plastic. I've bought 3 of these over the last couple of years. The problem may be that it is occasionally used to hit a tambourine however even through being carried in a bag with other percussion I noticed it getting damaged.

This is absolutely great - very happy to recommend. A loud shaker that really cuts through. Use it for roots / Americana stuff in pubs, and pop / dance stuff for parties / functions, sounds really good. Well made, I've had this one in my gig-bag for 18 months and it's good as new.

Fair effect. As some other reviews stated - would have liked them to be more "pronounced/defined"That said, I think I need to spend more time on application/practice.Simple and effective - well made - good brand - fair price

Quite loud

For on stage use without compare - this is my second purchase - if you start to hit drums and cymbals with them they can break but i couldn't stop the singer!

The sound these little things produce is just incredible! I work with those with extra needs and the fact that a small movement can produce a lot of sound is like gold dust in my trade (music therapy) so if you too want to make extra noise give these a go.
