I'm just starting out in newborn photography and I figured it would be easier to use this than the towels I currently use to prop the baby's head and feet up. I did get the right product and it’s okay. I thought it would be easier to pose the newborn, but I think it’s going to take time to get used to using this instead of the towels I currently use. At least I received the correct item! I am going to give this a couple more tries. I think it has potential.

I decided to try a newborn photoshoot at home with a friend who is a photographer, so I purchased this since it was less expensive than similar items on amazon. We got some good shots, but I had to use a book to prop up one of the pillows so it was higher. Overall, it wasn’t as dramatic of a slant as I wanted to get the ideal newborn pose. When the pillows are velcroed together, the low spot in the middle is too wide, so we didn’t get the desired look/position. The material is good, and it feels like high quality. There are zippers on both pillows that would allow you to stuff it more (or less I guess). When we used it, our baby was just under 10 lbs, 22” long, and was 2 weeks old.

I bought this to use instead of rolled up blankets for newborn photography sessions. They work great- outer material is nice and doesn't stick to posing fabrics. My only issue is that while these are well stuffed, the stuffing collapses quite a bit. For my taste, it needs to be a bit firmer or more stuffed. There is a zipper that you can open and it's easy to add more stuffing if you want to. All in all, these are great pillows.

If you’re looking into doing newborn photography, this is a must have for any beginner.

I don't know if you would want to give as a gift, unless you're giving as a gift to a photographer. It was great as money goes, it was reasonably priced. It is very durable.
