never shave again
This is a superb product and it's tempting to never shave in the normal way again. Having a short stubble growth suits me but I find it's a very fine line between not shaving for a few days and having a scruffy beard. Then there's the discomfort of shaving off stubble growth and starting again. With this I can keep the optimum length indefinitely, and tidy up little bits here and there to give a groomed look. It's worth experimenting with settings a little at first to find the best ones to suit. I trim my stubble a little shorter under the chin than everywhere else (0.8mm as opposed to 2mm) as with it being in shadow it seems darker than the rest, and trimming this part shorter seems to give a better look. It also stops my beard catching in scarves etc which is a nuisance. The lengths are very easy to select with the trimmer, with no additional combs and attachments to change (very handy for my purposes with using more than one cutting length). I suspect this might ultimately be its weak point, as the plastic combs are quite flimsy and the motorised settings may be too clever for their own good: it's just more technical things to go wrong. The battery life seems fine, and the trimmer is very lightweight and quiet in operation (much quieter than all the electric shavers I've used in the past). The best thing of all is that the cutting surface never comes into contact with the skin so it's 100% comfortable to use and never any shaving irritation. When I do decide to shave completely with a conventional razor a trim with the 0.4mm setting makes shaving much more comfortable having removed most of the growth. I also find trimming with this much quicker than a conventional shave, perhaps because trimming stubble is less of an exact science. It's important to brush out the trimmer head after every use as the nooks and crannies can easily get clogged with hear. It's a shame it can't be rinsed under a tap like some shavers can. It's a superb product though, highly recommended for anyone who wants the stubble look or suffers irritation from shaving.

It really does work!
I must admit I was a little sceptical as to whether or not this would actually do the job or not but after using it now for a couple of months I'm glad to say that it does the job perfectly!Prior to owning the 7890u I used to attempt to shave my stubble using a Wahl hair trimmer on the smallest guard setting. Needless to say this was a complete pain, took ages and rarely did a good job. I don't have the thickest or densest facial hair and was worried that a custom stubble trimmer would only work on the kind of guys who seem to have 5 o'clock shadow almost as soon as they have completed their morning shave. I really didn't think that the minimum 4mm setting on the stubble trimmer would be short enough and that the other settings would be all but useless. How wrong I was.The 4mm setting shaves my stubble pretty damn close to the bone, so much so that I now prefer using the 6mm setting or above. The spring mounted head attachment on the shaver maintains good contact with my face as I move it around (another thing that I was worried it wouldn't do). It really only does take a few minutes to get that perfect stubble look and I wish I hadn't waited so long to buy one.The only small criticism that I have (and it is a petty one) is that the shaver head does tend to collect a fair amount of stubble as you move it around your face and if you happen to twist the shaver upside down to get at your neck or an awkward bit under your chin it tends to dump all of the shavings out all over your chest (or sink depending on how you are standing). That aside I would highly recommend this and really wish I had bought one sooner. My old Gillete fusion now sits in the bathroom cupboard barely used.

Exaclty what I was looking for!
I had been searching for a beard trimmer to avoid having to shave all the time. I would normally let my stubble grow into a beard over the week then eventually shave it off when it got too long and annoying. I have an electric shaver which has a side burn trimmer but this is slow, inaccurate, and tends to pull hairs out so I needed a proper solution. I read many reviews then spoke to a mate who owns this i-stubble and decided to check it out. I was a little put off by some reviews regarding issues with trimming beneath the nose plus the fact that the i-trimmer is NOT water proof. But it was on a promotional price and I had a voucher to use so I went for it, and I'm so glad I did!you charge it for 16hrs initially then it can be used corded or cordless, using cordless does just as good a job as having it plugged in and the battery seems to last pretty well. You set your length I tend to use between 0.6 and 1.0mm (0.4mm being the lowest) and you run the i-stubble over your face as you would if you were clipping you hair. The neck takes is a little more difficult due to the groves and hair growth directions but the comb is well shaped to deal with this. The facial area can be done in a matter of minutes however which is great if you're in a rush and need a quick tidy up. The comb which moves up and down to adjust the length can be flipped back allowing you to use the bare trimmer to get into the hard to trim areas in the neck, side burns, or remove fine hairs wherever they may be. Beneath the nose is not a problem for me I trim from different angles and it works just fine, some people may struggle as noses come in different shapes and sizes but bending the nose to either side definitely helps gain access and if that fails simply flip back the comb and the problem is no more. Don't be put off by the exposed trimmer, I've used it on my neck, cheeks, and beneath the nose and it's never once cut or nicked my skin, nor pulled hairs, it works great. I usually trim to the desired length and then tidy up with the bare trimmer.I use the i-stubble every 2 days generally and it doesn't irritate my skin as my electric shaver used to. This is a great product which I thoroughly recommend. I would have given 5 stars if the i-stubble was water proof. The video demo for this product is worth watching.
