Material plastic, screen 1080
The laptop is powerful, but the case material feels cheap. My old ZenBook had a metal case that looked great, but this plastic one feels low quality. There's no fingerprint sensor, only Face ID. The lid also doesn't close completely—my old one had magnets between the lids. The hinge is better than the old model, though, since I had issues with the previous one breaking. The screen also feels cheap. My old laptop (zenbook) had a 2.8K display, but this one is only 1080p. Overall, I don't like it.

Excellent Laptop
Full disclosure - I returned this specific laptop. Why? Because I realized after ordering (but before opening the box) that this is NOT the 3K display. So, I ordered the exact same device but with the 3K display. This is an awesome laptop (with either display). Great battery life, awesome build quality, super fast. I will comment on a couple of things I've seen reviewers mention:1. it runs SUPER quiet. If you leave the settings on "standard" the device runs blazing fast and whisper quiet. If you are doing email, web browsing, watching videos, doing Office documents, etc. It runs cool and quiet (I can't even hear the fan running). Now if you play a game and/or bump the setting up to "performance" it does run loud and hot - but that's to be expected.2. gaming - I do most of my gaming on a console, but there are a few games I play with friends on the PC (including World of Warships). The Intel ARC 140 combined with the Intel Ultra 9 is a shockingly good chipset. All the games I play are super smooth and high detail. Never a studder or dropped frame. This makes me super happy because I really wanted a touch screen and most small gaming laptops do not have that.Summary: if you are looking for a smaller lightweight laptop that is great for traveling, has a touch screen, is lightning fast, AND will handle the occasional game. This is the one to choose (again make sure you are getting the screen resolution you want).

Sorry ASUS! No Go!
Problems from the beginning. Seller made adjustments to the laptop as noted in write up. Too much money and time wasted. Buy from the OEM directly.

ASUS Zenbook 14" laptop
Excellent laptop. It meets or exceeds my needs. Plus, Windows 11 is so much better than 10.

Possible BIOS update loading issue, ASUS support is terrible. Otherwise a great, powerful computer.
The Good: It has plenty of power, a great keyboard and screen and an Intel Ultra 9 processor that handles big data, like photo processing, with ease. The Snapdragon processor on the Microsoft Surface and other brands has problems with Adobe Photoshop and Nikon's NX Studio for example. The Bad: There has been an issue downloading the BIOS update where the computer loses it's connection to plug in power and locks up. It happened to me after I loaded all my programs. ASUS support was worthless {obvious not US-based) and finally referred me to BestBuy. After several tries the tech there was able to get the BIOS update loaded. So far so good because I love the computer.
