Nice solid built device quirky first time when you set it up.
The unit is made out of metal instead of plastic so it is a well built device. I think my unit may have been a returned item because the tape on the box was already opened. I hooked up two devices and nothing came on. I pressed the remote to toggle between the devices and still nothing. When I physically hit the buttons on the device the unit started working. Some of the other reviewers mentioned the device working intermittently. But so far so good. This is a nice well built device and I am glad I purchased it. I will update my review if anything changes. If you have a 4K device and a 4K TV the device is a must and other non 4K certified selectors might not work properly.

The device was very temperamental. Struggles with 4k.
First off build quality. The device seemed very solid and well made. The IR sensor is a little wonky. You have to point the remote in the perfect location to get it to work. I found myself using the front button more than the remote. The switch was very particular about which input it would display. I would try to switch from input 1 to 2 (Xbox one X to PS4). The PS4 would always dominate the connection to the point I had to shut it off just to get the other connected components to work/display. This happened when trying to switch between my Desktop PC and Laptop as well. One device would always dominate. Which means you can only have 1 device powered on at a time. If I can't have both/multiple devices powered on and connected at once it kind of defeats the purpose. It also struggled with 4K 60hz with my Xbox and PC gaming. I experienced extreme ghosting. The image seemed to 'slow down' and lose frames during fast motion game play or cut-scenes. Which doesn't happen with just a direct HDMI connection. I also lost 4k 24hz mode on the XBox one X when I plugged into the switch. This mode works fine with just a direct HDMI connection. This made Blu-Ray/4k disk movies unwatchable.Lastly it seemed to have no issues with 1080p. The image was smooth and it worked great with the Nintendo Switch. I still had to shut off every device but just the 1 I wanted to use. Once again this defeats the purpose of the 4k switch. This made me ultimately return the unit. I could have just had a bad unit. I might try another solution in the future.

Great product
I’m changing my review. Initially, the remote didn’t work, but the company quickly sent me a new remote, no questions asked or even return hassle! That is 5 star treatment right there!!! I wish more companies/people valued their customers like them. Thank you!!!!

Intermittently works
I liked the idea of 5 ports so chose this over a 4 port. It stopped working a week after buying, wouldn't switch manually or with the remote. Then started working again. It doesn't automatically switch at all. The first port is on the end & my other cords can't reach other than the Roku, but the Roku gets hot so I unplug it. Then the switch won't work. It now stopped recognizing my blu-ray player that my TV recognizes no problem. It also automatically switched back to TV while I was using the blu-ray. Decided to send it back while I could since it's not yet the 30 days since purchase.

Works okay for some devices, doesn't support the Fire Stick 4K - no definite recommendation from me.
I am actually reviewing a replacement model, since the first one didn't work right and had to be replaced.Support was thorough and easy to work with, but they couldn't definitively figure out why I had so many issues with their product. We ended up settling my case with the possible cause being HDMI EDID problems, apparently something that can't be fixed. My devices were not recognized on the original switch I bought, but the new replacement switch product works somewhat better.Unfortunately, it doesn't support the Fire TV Stick 4k, or at least it won't display on my 720P TV unless I bypass this switch (thereby limiting its potential). My DVD player, laptop, and cable box work fine, though the game console upscaler XRGB Mini can only obtain a flaky connection with this switch part of the setup. Things work a lot better if I add an older HDMI Matrix, but 3 of 5 isn't too bad for only using the gofanco switch.I still don't think I could recommend this device as it is right now, unless the HDMI EDID/device issues can be fixed via software/hardware upgrades. I rate this 3*.

Works intermittently
Works well when it works. I have a security camera NVR and a laptop computer on the input and an HDTV on output. So at the present time I'm only switching between the 2 devices. At times I have to continually press the buttons to make it switch. Once it does it works fine for awhile. Then I'll have to go through the process again. Also sometimes when it does switch it will fail to connect giving me an on screen error message "Weak or No Signal" on the TV.

NOPE! Don't do it
The IR remote does not work for one. The other is that unless the device is ON you can't switch to that source. Example: lets say I have pc, an xb1, and a switch. The xb1 is on and is source3, but now I want to play the switch that is in sleep mode and on source 2. We'll NOPE!!! You can't even manually switch to that source even if it's blank on sources that are active. So if your set up is like this, and you turn off the switch and the monitor turns too and vice versa you cant actually play your switch with this device. You try to turn on your switch but it goes right back into sleep mode because you are not on its source... literally the stupidest product I have purchased on Amazon.

Excellent Customer service!
I bought this mid-January and it worked fine... In April it suddenly stopped working. Gofanco went above and beyond the call of duty to replace it. The new one works perfectly. Thank you, GOFANCO! I will check with you for future needs!
