Beautiful Lure; Barbless Hooks
I purchased three of the DTXs, two of the large 200 series, one of the medium 160 size. They all fish well out the box. I use them exclusively for trolling bluewater. Wahoo, Mahi and Yellowfin are the primary targets. Unlike some other folks, I've had no issues trolling them at speed. Kudos to Nomad for producing a lipped plug with this kind of power. The reason this is a three - rather than five - star review is solely because of the hooks. I've had pretty extensive communication with Nomad about their hook choice. The BKK inlines are of unquestionable quality. My problem is that they are effectively barbless. This is great for catch-and-release fishing. But when I'm trolling blue-water, I'm looking to bag some delicious fish, not just snap a catchy photo. I've hooked over 50 fish on the DTXs and landed only a handful. No other lure in my arsenal - even the in-line singles - have this kind of track record.Nomad have told me that they are "working to fix the barb issue," and I believe them. Once they do, this will be a five-star lure. Until then, it gets three stars from me.

140s are great! 120s are not!
First off, DTX minnows are my go-to hard bait for wahoo, and I have caught many on140s (mostly Black Pink Mackerel), and several on larger sizes. So when the 120s came out I bought two, since smaller baits often are the ticket to hookups.Unfortunately, for me at least, the 120s always pop out of the water when I troll over 5 knots, regardless of how far back I set them. And when I do slow down to keep them in, I can see that they aren't running very deep by the angle of the line. The 140s work very well, run quite deep, and stay in the water, even at 8 or 9 knots. So, in cases where I do want to put something smaller than a 140 out there, it will be something like an xRap.

Bites, comes off. Your welcome...
Coming from a full time fisherman... This lure will get the bite.. but almost always comes off. I ran this brand new in a fishing tournament an 3 bites an none of them stuck ..those hooks suck. 2 stars. Also. This lure dives so hard its extremely hard to clear the line back to the boat...I wont buy another..

No warranty if sold on Amazon! And they will break, guaranteed!
These lures are not very strong plastic. Both of mine shattered from Ahi bites the first day. DO NOT PURCHASE THROUGH AMAZON. The vendor will tell you to contact Nomad, and they don’t warranty anything sold on Amazon. If you must buy these, buy them direct or through an authorized seller off of Amazon or eBay.

The hooks are junk
These will run well at speed... IF you do everything just right. But the hooks are galvanized, so the rings rust thin pretty quick. Then you find yourself needing to replace them. The other thing about the hooks is, the eye is turned .......expensive to replace.

Good for one fish
Tried the larger DTX lure and caught a nice Wahoo within the first 20 minutes, but the lure would not troll correctly after that first fish and the boat owner is not going to allow the cockpit crew to troll a lure that is screwed up.

Great for trolling
Works for all pelagic fish! Great lite that runs at HIGH speed!

Terrible design- Nomad Design DTX Minnow
I rarely write reviews but feel the need to share how bad the Nomad Design DTX Minnow tracks. It does not stay in the water, it just turns sideways and skips across the water.
