Easy-to-Program Replacement Key Fob for GMC Terrain
The media could not be loaded. I recently purchased these replacement key fobs for my GMC Terrain and am quite satisfied with it. I needed to have the key blade cut separately and the fob didn't come with instructions, I was able to program it myself using the guidance from my car manual. The process was surprisingly simple and hassle-free, and each button works as it should! I will be ordering a fob cover tonight. Here's what worked for me: First, I inserted the original key into the ignition, turned it to the 'on' position (without cranking the engine), then back to the 'off' position and removed it. Next, I inserted the new key, turned it to 'on,' then back to 'off,' and that was it—the programming was successful!Although it required a bit of extra effort to look up the steps in the car manual, I appreciated the ability to handle this task on my own. Overall, this key fob is a practical and affordable solution for anyone needing a replacement key for their GMC.

These saved me so much money
I was a little hesitant after reading about some of the problems people had but I though what do I have to lose. I tried to find someone to cut the key blank but they won't do it unless you buy the key from them; what a rip off the replacement key industry is. The cheapest I could find was $200 a key. So I decided to try and transfer the key from old to new. Was super easy. Took me less than 15 minutes to push out the pin, transfer to new key, program new key, repeat. Works perfect and I saved a minimum of $470 bucks. Couldn't be happier. I normally don’t write reviews but I had to as this was such a great value for my money.

Very disappointed.
I purchase this item base that it looked just like the one that I had and it seemed to have good reviews. But I could not program it after trying. The methods that were told to me by the links that they sent me and I looked on youtube to see if I could find somebody to help me out with it. I finally gave up on it and decided to call a professional, and they said they could do it. But I'm attempting to do it.The car would not start unless I installed it into the center. Console slot and as I exit the car. And close the door it would not chirp. To let me know that I. Left the keys in the car. It cost me $220 for the person to get it to work. The best that he could, he said either the transmitter would not work a 100% with my car. Or there is something wrong with the translator. Amazon said to return it, but the units have already been altered to work with my car to the best that it can. I could have sent the item back as Amazon explain. But I didn't know that if it was me. Or the item I took the chance. And decided to get a professional and now amazon said the best I can do is refund me for this translators. I mean the car is relatively new and to have to go through this kind of process to go to get it to start by putting it in the slot in the center console and it does not chirp to alert you that you left. The keys in the car is very disappointing.

Great solution.
Used to replace the OEM fogs for my 2015 Chevy Equinox. Getting the old fobs apart was the hardest part. Easy to swap in the new parts.

Works 2015 Chevy equinox
Nothing is ever really this easy.Locksmith came to me and cut keys, told me to start vehicle original key and wait for lock sign on dash to disappear; within 5 sec I turned on with cut key 1, waited for lock sign to disappear on dash, and worked.1 thing to note though following userguide I wasn't able to program key 2 with oringinal (with damaged internal chip), until I used key 1 I had just programmed (after locksmith had left, just randomly trying things again). This time I didn't turn on car just turned to on position, but I think trick to get key two to work was using key 1 I just programmed. This is my first time doing this so I don't know for sure 🤷🏽♂️ Locksmith noted before he left probably max keys reached.Summary: original to program key 1, key 1 to program key 2 (original did not accomplish programming of 2).

Good luck finding someone to cut it
The key has the look and feel of a Chevy key fob. However, I could not find one place in my county where I could get the thing cut. I read another review where a buyer was able to swap out their blank with the already cut metal of their old key fob. The problem with that fix is that the new one is very hard to pry apart and parts of it broke when I did so (luckily they are a set of two); also the parts aren’t exactly the same and so now the metal key part won’t flip in and out of the new fob. Desperation made me do it and it does (after programming) function well enough that I don’t think I’ll get stranded. However, I do not recommend this product unless you know for certain that there is a locksmith who can cut your blank key for you. In my case the Chevy dealership doesn’t even have the ability to do it. They did offer to sell me one of theirs for $200 if I could prepay and wait a couple of weeks for it.
