This is a great tool to use to troubleshoot vehicle issues. It is easy to use. Reads codes, has live vehicle data, clears engine light issues.

This scanner is seriously impressive for the money. Has a lot of features that a very expensive scanner tool would offer.It worked on all systems in a sprinter van I had including forcing DPF Regen, has a lot of very valuable programming features for my 08 Chevy truck like encoder motor learn, key learn, Injector balance rates etc.if you’re on the fence about autel, don’t be. Well worth what they cost, even for a DIY enthusiast.It’s saved me thousands

MK808s has saved me thousands within my first use. bought San-Tool this yr 2023 no more getting ripped off by the dealership for things I can do myself. Even if you're not a DIY person you well at least be able to tell the dealership not only the codes but how to do the job, the dealerships take advantage of anyone who goes in for service with the check engine light on saying, I have no idea whats wrong, I bought this scanner after a good friend told me to stop trusting your service advisor at the dealership. He only tells you customers states, then he rips you off so he can make his commission . well those days are long over for me I've never worked on any type of emissions sys, well this scan- tool not only gave me the codes but allowed me to search right on the scanner helping to find the OEM parts I needed, that can be found right here on amazon and very easy to install for the most part. So easy yet the dealerships charges insane prices for the same thing one can do themselves . The dealerships never will tell you and surely would never show you just how easy some of these fixes are. you'll feel so good kwoing you not only found the fault but you were able to clean area before placing the new part in place, something the dealership would never do.. No more guessing what's wrong with any of my 5 vehicels ever again, once any dealership knows you're the type that keeps up with all the your required repairs and or maintenance they'll always seem to find problems even if it's only a routine oil change.. Note not all service advisor are dishonest people, a very well known dealerships service advisor in my town was the one who told me to get a very nice scanner and put a stop on being ripped off. So after months of doing my research I selected (Autel Scanner MaxiCOM MK808S) this scanner here is way more then i'll ever need, however what I love about this scanner is it's for the basic mechanic on to the very experience mechanic like myself, now I can do minor repairs or the more complex repairs, either way that'll be my choice and not the dealership anymore. Yes you only get one year of free updates for me it still wasn't any brainer this scanner is way better than matco and snap-on by far!!! My only Con is towards myself, when I asked myself what took me so damn long to stop being ripped off and getting a scanner that does so much that it pays for whatever spent just on the first. All I had to do was calculate the cost of parts over the cost of labor and this scan-tool gave me not just my money back but I also dont have the worry about the check engine light coming on, Plus my vehicle passed the state inspection that's still required here in Texas with no faults found. This scanner not only shows you the codes and faults but I personally never gave it a 2nd thought on how a emissions sys works and all the realted components, so not only did this scanner help me fix the problem, it educated me on how the emissions sys works. Likes:A pretty responsive user interface.Lots of vendors supported and covers most of the cars I see.Fairly in depth diagnostic capability.A few active diagnostic control tools.Dislikes:User interface is kind of difficult to navigate and filter for the PIDS you are interested in.No CANbus network diagrams, or information.No wiring diagrams even with the annual subscription.DuraMax Diesel 3.0L fuel injections pressure ranges are off by a factor of 8X-10X. They are showing <~3,800 when the limits are really up to around 36,000+Unreliable code clears fail to remove historical codes from some modules. It says it clears, but it does not .Changes:A better way to manage, categorize and group and select PIDs other than only the infinite scroll. Each technician is going to have preferences as to how they approach things and on modern cars there are too many to infinitely scroll through as the only option.Some sort of user profile where you can save PIDS and other parameters in groups and them enable or disable by group.Some memory of vehicle history by VIN so that it can re-import and select the PIDS that were used previous on the same vehicle. That makes it much faster when powering up for each re-test during repairs.Improve reliability of the existing features.

Great scanner, saved me several times on the road. Getting to know and fully understand it's capability helps emencely.

Since I purchased my autel mk808s bi directional scanner it has been wonderful and I've been able to do everything I need it to do being a 20 year automotive technician as well as power sports technician.I've been able to communicate with both power sports and automotive vehicles and see the parameters that I need to see as well as it has had all the different special functions that I've needed for things like electric parking brake or a sensor relearn calibration or brake bleeding mode so far it has been everything a professional scanner needs to be. The only downfall although not autells fault is with the power sports the manufacturers have not been mandated to all use the same connector for their diagnostic port like cars sold in the US have been since 1994 so you must purchase all the different adapters to 16pin OBD2 for all the power sports manufacturers and some manufacturers have more than for instance Yamaha has one for marine and one for off-road but this scanner does support all the different protocols needed to view the parameters for power sports you just need the adapters I have had no problems with connectivity nor have I had any problems with the units reliability it's super user friendly and I'm my honest opinion a great purchase for any mechanic or someone just looking to do some diy repairs on any late model vehicles requiring a bidirectional scanner to perform/complete specific repairs

Hands down one of the best bidirectional scan tools does alot from Fob on Chevy malibu to 98 cadillac eldorado my go to tool! And very quick and responsive love it been turning wrenchches for over 20 years have used alot of different scan tools but this is worth every penny!
