Very handy A to Z recipe book!
This is a very informative book about all kinds of recipes that are typically Indian. The process is explained in simpler terms, at times too simple for the person to get the correct measurement of ingredients. Still, assuming one has a bit of general knowledge about cooking, this book will prove to be a great boon in brushing up the cooking skills required for the given recipes. The recipes are to the point, thus easy to prepare. Now, a heads up - Don't take the option of two day delivery for books, if it is offered and you have other items that are due to be delivered on the same day. Because the book will be huddled inside any of the given items and will most likely get its cover and/or binding damaged. The pages may bear the brunt of careless packing too. It doesn't matter even if it's a mammoth book, it will still be thrown in with other item and most likely there won't be any protective packing except a thin paper cover. The result will be a damaged book either way. This is a terrible initiative to reduce packaging by Amazon because the structure and handling of the items is not even getting considered. In any case each individual product deserves careful individual packaging, and frankly when you see your items squeezed in a less than protective cardboard/paper box, the feeling of buying and owning something brand new vanishes and instead a money waste thought comes into mind. There are certain procedures that are very critical to the entire function, and good packaging is one of them. It simply can't be viewed as dispensable or changeable, because on it depends the entire product and purchaser's faith and trust.Every book should be individually packed, preferably with bubble wrap and cardboard box. Avoid such deliveries where the whole experience might leave you with a bad taste.

Poorly crafted book that provides no insight into Nutrition
I was amazed to see the contents of the book. Especially since it is from the National Institute of Nutrition.Do we think in terms of 2 gm cumin , 50 gm flour , 1 gm chili powder ?They could have said 1 teaspoon cumin etcFor a book by a Nutrition org it gives NO info on nutrition . Neither calories not fat / carb / protein . It just tells you what is the weight of the end product . What is the relevance??Neither usable nor it provides any meaningful info. The authors and the org need to redo the book completely.
