100% would buy this again
Would 100% recommend. Over all great experience for myself and my daughter. I received the caterpillars super fast after ordering. Unfortunately one of the caterpillars did not make it within a few days so that left me with 4. All 4 caterpillars had went into their cocoon. 2 butterflies just came out today and I’m still waiting on the last 2.I plan to set the 2 butterflies free after 24 hours so their wings can dry and expand.Make sure when purchasing these you also buy the butterflies enclosures separate as they do not come with it.First 2 pictures are of the caterpillars after a few days of getting them ( they grow so fast)Last 2 pictures show my 2 beautiful butterflies that hatched. Just waiting on 2 more!!This was so much fun

Poor quality
I've been getting my caterpillars from Insect Lore through Amazon for the last 4 or 5 years. I feel like each year, the quality has gone done. I used to get 5 healthy caterpillars. Then last year it was 4 (one died in the cup), then of the 4, only 3 cocooned properly, and then 1 of those 3 didn't hatch. Now, this year, we only had 3 caterpillars in the cup, and now that they just cocooned a few days ago, one cocoon already fell off the top of the cup before I could transfer them to the netting. For the money I spend getting these caterpillars for my daughter to hatch and then let loose in our garden, it's not worth it anymore. When I pay for 5, I expect 5 caterpillars in the cup, not the 3 I received this time. I may look elsewhere for caterpillars next year.

Oops!
I have been ordering insect lore for about five years for my grandchildren. They have been beautiful butterflies, and it always made my grandchildren happy at the release. For some reason this year, the chrysalis‘s fell off the paper and they started to have an odor. My son could not stand the odor so he threw it out. I got this from Amazon so I could not return it since he discarded the cup. Can I possibly get a refund or another cup so I could try it again thank you.

Awesome Quality Product
This is the best source I've found for caterpillars to observe; we've ordered them for several years now. They came clear across the country in two days, and all the caterpillars were alive (temps getting into low 80s as a high). The cup was very well packaged. Wonderful product! My kids are having a blast, and they're still just caterpillars!

Educational and fun for all ages!!
I give it 4 stars ONLY because we only received 4 caterpillars, but they all developed and flew off! This is the second time in 3 years we have done this. It is truly an amazing experience to have with your child. Or, even as an adult! I loved watching them every morning. I was bummed I did not get to see them emerge as they all did it over night, but the first time we did this we watched all 5 emerge and it was amazing!

Cannibal Caterpillar
Not much luck this year for our kids. After unpacking we noticed one caterpillar was already dead. Down to 4. We had one caterpillar kill another caterpillar (chomped it in half). The serial killer constantly tried to attack the other remaining two. The other two however did survive. All 3 eventually did turn to a chrysalis but 10 days went by and nothing happened. We waited a bit longer but the chrysalis turned dark black...dead black. Nature!
