Really well made ceramic pipe and an excellent price. I didn’t want a plastic pipe, as ceramic is more benign in terms of potential off-gassing and eventual product end-of-life disposal, thus less environmentally harmful. I use it for inhaling vapours from 3-4 drops of 15% Lugol’s iodine solution drops, to help treat Eustachian tube disfunction. Astonishingly, it worked first time and my tinnitus has stopped after 9 months of semi-constant noise. My recovery could be a coincidence, no way of knowing otherwise. Nevertheless, useful device for home healthcare use. Salt pipe use is unsupported by gold standard trials, as not a pharmaceutical drug. Salt pipe use developed after various observational studies noticed salt miners were uniquely free of respiratory disease amongst miners of other materials, and fugitives from war hiding in salt caves remained in good health despite privations of war. In my case, worth every penny after one use and is a useful addition to the medicine chest.

Easy to use, seems to be effective & salt is an ancient "cleanser" - cleared sinuses and throat felt "cleansed". Suggest don't over use, gentle start.

At first I thought absolutely No Way was this going to help me with my cough, However, after the 1st couple of days I noticed my cough wasn't as persistent, fast forward to around the 10 day mark and my cough had all but disappeared. Great little device and just shows you shouldn't judge anything without first trying it.

I used this the first evening I got it and did the 15 minutes they recommended. I did not really notice any difference but that night I woke around 3am shaking and my heart was racing. I felt very wierd. There was also a loud ringing in my ears. I felt my BP was high. I went and had a drink of Grapefruit juice and eventually the symtoms became less. I am sure it was the salt in this pipe as I haven't used it since and I have not had the symptoms since. Maybe my body did not like the Himalyan salt and I had a reaction to it. I am now too scared to use it again.
