Can't go wrong with original Jandy valves
Jandy is made by Zodiac pool systems glad I found these because even local pool suppliers in my area don't have these in stock. They are stocking cheap copies I'm surprised because I would be willing to pay more from a local dealer.Update got them installed used the Jandy recommended pipe glue made by Weld-on 724 CPVC, and its recommended Weld-on P-70 Primer. Both purchased on eBay for less than $30 it's the larger can of glue. It's gray and doesn't dry super-fast which is what you want so you can push everything together at once. I took my time carefully measuring the socket depth and how much each connection needed with a MM ruler lot easier to add MM then inches. I did get tiny bit of glue inside the housing where the valve turns lucky for me wasn't where the valve seals off anything. Be super careful when you glue these in if you keep it facing up the design has tapered plastic so the glue can't run inside the valve. I had them sitting flipped over on a bench. In the end my pool runs perfect no bubbles at all.

Jandy is great, but be sure to buy the bigger one. Could save you time and effort in the future.
If you need a 2 inch valve, be sure to buy the 2 - 2 1/2 inch valve, not the 1 1/2 - 2 inch valve. Either will work on Day One, but, down the line, the larger one could save you a big headache: My last pump failed after many years. The installer, in order to fit that replacement pump into the maze of pipes the pool company created, mated the pump in such a way that there was no way to reuse the piping, nor was there a way to splice any new piping in place of the old. (Believe me, I tried.) Because the valve was 2 inch - 2 1/2 inch, the solution was easy: I hacked off the old 2 inch pipe right where it slid into the stub on the valve, slid a 2 1/2 inch coupler over the outside of the stub, glued it in place, inserted a 2 1/2 inch to 2 inch reducer in the other end of the coupler, and I had a brand new 2 inch socket. Saved me two valves and a lot of digging. (Others have suggested that you slide 2 1/2 inch pipes over the outside of the stubs on the valve. You don't. You slide a 2 1/2 inch coupler.)As others have warned, be sure to use a combination cement listed as good for both PVC and CPVC.Jandy valves are several steps up from the ones sold in hardware stores, a true commercial-grade product. I wouldn't consider any other brand. We've had all of ours for close to 20 years with never a hint of failure. Hard to beat that cost per year.

You Can't go Wrong With Jandy Valves
Jandy valves are an amazing product. They last forever and you can easily swap out the internal components if it has any issues.I just re-plumbed a large section of my pool equipment since I was switching from a Pentair FNS Plus to a Pentair Clean & Clear Plus (D.E. filter to a Cartridge filter). I had to remove the multi-valve but I still wanted a way to pump to waste. This Jandy valve fit the bill perfectly with what I wanted to accomplish.- My system and installation:My equipment is all plumbed with 2" Schedule 40 PVC, to cement the Jandy valve CPVC to the PVC pipe you have to use an all purpose rated cement. In my case I used 3 different Oatey products (Clear Cleaner, Purple Primer for CPVC/PVC ,and All Purpose Cement for CPVC and PVC).One last note, if you have 2" pool plumbing. As others have also said, always buy the Jandy 4717 2 to 2-1/2 Inch valve instead of the Jandy 4715 1-1/2 to 2-Inch. This way if you ever have to re-plumb a section of your equipment you can save your valve. You can cut the existing 2" pipe flush with the valve, and use a 2-1/2 Inch coupling to connect a 2-1/2 to 2 inch Reducer Bushing (There are many options ,but I used a LASCO 437‐292).To help others, I have included a reference images where I show one of my existing Jandy 4717's using this 2-1/2 inch coupling method.
