Works Flawlessly.
I completed a new Wi-Fi upgrade project at the end of 2023, September / October time. Upgrading from an old Cisco Air Net mesh setup to Ubiquity. One of the changes I wanted to make was to have better Wi-Fi coverage in the garden. As our garden is small / medium sized, this UAP-AC-M was an ideal choice. It has been running flawlessly since the day I installed it. As it is weather resistant but has no official IP rating, it is designed to be deployed outside in the elements, so that's where I put it. (See pictures attached)The access point broadcasts on both 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz frequencies but does not support the 6Ghz range. (i.e Wi-Fi 6 or 7)Comes with a POE injector in the box, I didn't use mine as the site is wired with POE back to the comms room. I've found the AP consumes between 3 to 8 Watts of power. Again, depending on the range it is broadcasting, that will determine how much power it uses.I've read online that the antennas on these AP's can become brittle and or break but I have yet to see any signs of physical fatigue or failure as of yet. For the money I paid, I am very happy with it and would happily purchase another if needed.Always do your own research of course as your milage and requirements may vary. But for an outdoor Access Point this should not disappoint.

Rock solid performance from this access point.
Like all things unifi , they just work, and the outside range on this is great - I get a good 100mtrs line of site.

Outdoor WiFi
I have a complete unifi home network and needed to extend outside, had a spare port on an external switch so install was easy. Resolved a few connectivity issues with car and doorbell so happy with result.

Excellent value & speed
I have used unifi products now for a few years. I have a USG-3P, 2 x UAP AC Pro and 1 x UAP nano HD running with an Ethernet wired backhaul and cloud controller running on a server. This setup provides excellent coverage and has always been stable.I bought a traditional stone 19th Century property as a holiday business. This property fortunately had fibre to the property and whilst the Zen’s supplied router and repeater just about covered the inside of the property. I wanted a cost effective way of providing Wi-fi in the front and back garden. Having had great success with the Unifi products previously, I researched the UAP-AC-M outdoor mesh. I decided to keep this setup more straight forward I would not setup a cloud controller and setup two as standalone access points using a wired Ethernet backhaul.Setup is really easy via their app and once you’ve set your SSID and password you’ll be online in a few minutes.Speed is excellent as a direct comparison using an wired Ethernet connection I get 108Mbs using an iPhone 12 Pro 10m away outside connected to UAP-AC-M I was getting 104Mbs.Whilst the aesthetics of the unit don’t look as good as the discs Unifi produce they are small and extremely effective and excellent value for money.

... doing with Ubiquiti controllers and are looking for a good PtMP outdoor solution then this is it
If you know what you're doing with Ubiquiti controllers and are looking for a good PtMP outdoor solution then this is it.The "mesh" capability is a bonus on top.I have found that mounting these units above the roof of your average house can also provide internal WiFi as well, negating the need for an internal AP. If you do need an internal AP just hook it up to the Gbit Ethernet.Because of the Mesh aspect you set them up slightly differently to other Ubiquiti APs. There's a good guide on the Ubiquiti blog site and it's not difficult.I have used these on farms to provide internal and external access to the internet and local resources like printers and CCTV cameras across the whole estate with no need for internal APs, but of course it depends on the size of the buildings and their construction. I have my controller on an Amazon server, but you could use a local PC (even an RPi) or the UniFi Cloud Key Controller.I will be using a lot more of these units.

Great product
Used to connect WiFi to 5 external cctv cameras great signal to all cameras now as old building and WiFi would not pass through the thick walls highly recommended for external or garden WiFi

Easy to install
If you've already got any unifi stuff, you'll plug it in, add it to your controller and one firmware update later it'll be fully working.Controller software doesn't need to be permanently running, unless you want to record stats or use the guest portal.
