Excellent alternative to traditional dumbbells. Great for home gyms.
Super affordable and honestly easy to make. I had a couple or surplus bags of concrete in my garage from a project. After watching the video and prepping the materials it took about 45 minutes start to finish. They’re large, but feel very sturdy. They don’t feel flimsy or like they’ll ever break. I’ll only update if they catastrophically fail or something else happens. But I severely doubt that they’ll fail me. Great and fun project.Pro tips:- I used rebar on the 60 lbs dumbbell even though you don’t have to according to my instructions. But an angle grinder made quick work of cutting the rebar and I test fit it before cutting it.- listen to the instructions and make sure to only mix half of what you need at a time or it becomes difficult to control the consistency and you may end up with some waste.- As you fill it, have a scale ready to weigh it. Cover the scale with some paper towels to keep it clean and make sure you go a little over the weight because the water will evaporate as it cures . I got the 60 lbs dumbbells and I filled them both to 63.5 lbs and after curing they both lost 0.7 lbs with a final weight around 62.8- I used a massage gun to work out the bubbles and cardboard to level the dumbbells so the tops were flat( yes I’m one of those picky gym rats.

These weights Rock!!
These Rock Weights DIY concrete molds are incredible! Super easy to use, and the final product looks professional and solid. I used them to make my own custom weights, and they turned out even better than expected. The molds are sturdy and give a clean, realistic texture. Great value for the price. Perfect for home gyms or creative projects. I’ll definitely be buying more. Highly recommended—5 stars!

Nothing dumb about these dumbbells
Exactly what I ordered. Just waiting for concrete to dry.

Good buy
Used water which was great but could honestly be better with sand. Good solid grip, not loud at all to use, very easy and understanding.

Better than regular dumbbells.
I have previously purchased the 40LB kettlebell and was very pleased with it. I have so far loved the 40LB dumbbells, they work so well and was so much cheaper than regular dumbbells, I look forward to buying the 25LB pair and more.

Awesome cheap alternative
Bought these because of the cost of weights is still high. I had been looking at getting heavier dumbbells for the house for awhile. Everything new or used I was finding was going to cost more than I wanted to spend. Found these, ordered the 80 lbs molds. I figured for 60 some bucks, little bit of my time, why not? Saves me 200+ bucks, it’s worth a try. I got the 80 lbs molds, went to my local menards, bought 3, 60 lbs bags of concrete (3 bucks a bag), and two small pieces of rebar (cost 7 bucks, I would really encourage using this) for the handles. It took me about 30 minutes to mix concrete and fill dumbbells completely. I just mixed the concrete by hand. I encourage you to watch the instruction video real quick. Nothing complex but make sure to tamp the dumbbells down every few scoops when filling just to even the concrete, and prevent air bubbles. Once half way full, stick the rebar down the middle, complete filling. Once completely full, I weighed both on a simple step on scale we had at the house. I was able to get both to weigh in at 82.4 lbs. You can scoop out or add more concrete as you need. They were ready to use in 3 days. I’ve been using them consistently for a few weeks now. So to break it down:Pros: easy to make, if you’ve never done concrete don’t be worried it’s simple, IT’S CHEAPER THAN ANYTHING YOU’RE GOING TO FIND BRAND NEW OR USED, may get a little extra weight (big plus for me), plastic casing holds its form, no problems with use (no bending, cracking, or crumbling), it truly didn’t take long to make, so far worth the money (both spent and saved).Cons: these are a little bulkier than your typical dumbbell (still very functional for any push/pull motion), weight can be off slightly off (to me not a huge deal), even though durable, I can still see these things cracking if dropped on hard surfaces over and over (use some padding under them), and you may have to find and cut some rebar if you so choose.End result: worth the time and money. Cool product, nice design.
