My favorite universal remote just got better!
I'm somewhat of a power user when it comes to universal remotes because I have a lot of devices in my entertainment system including various HDMI switches and old school CRT televisions. I have tried many universal remotes in the past including the Logitech Harmony line, but they were simply trying to do too much and in the process, made the most basic thing a universal remote should do, so much harder -- controlling your devices! The premise with Sofabaton is simple, you switch devices with the wheel and control the selected device with the face buttons. They make the set up process so easy, the app works surprisingly seamless when connecting to the remote. Once connected, you can select the type of device from a database of devices they have , which makes it easy to get started. However, the real utility comes from being able to control Bluetooth devices. I have a Google Chromecast hooked up to my TV, and the set up was a breeze. I can easily control the Chromecast, and switch to Hisense TV if I need to change any settings. As mentioned, I also have old school CRT televisions, and using the IR learning function, I was able to program and control my Sony Trinitron CRT TV using the same remote. It works with any IR supported device, so I've also set up my AC and desk fan, and able to control those using the same remote. The new model of Sofabaton U2 now comes with backlit buttons which is a welcome change. While the screen was already bright in the original model, this makes being able to see the buttons in the dark so much easier. In addition, I have noticed that the size of a remote is slight taller than the original model, maybe about half inch taller. However, by doing so, they have also enlarged some of the buttons on the remote which makes them easier to press, such as the power all button at the very top, and number buttons. Finally, the battery life on the Sofabaton has always been impressive. While I haven't used the new one long enough to get a full sense of the battery life, the original one usually lasted me at least an entire year using rechargeable AA batteries. I suspect the backlit buttons might impact the battery life slightly, in the greater scheme of things, the battery life here is mostly just "insert and forget".I'd highly recommend anyone the Sofabaton U2 if you're in the market for a universal remote. It works well with all the IR devices (including CRT televisions), as well as Bluetooth devices. The set up is very easy, and it simply... works! I've been using the original for about 4 years now and will keep it as a back up, while the new one with the backlit buttons takes its place in the living room!

The best and most versatile universal remote just got better!
I own the previous version of the Sofabaton U2 remote and love it. I still use it after owning for multiple years. The only thing I wished it had was backlit keys. So I was very happy to find out that they released a new version with this feature. I wasted no time ordering and am very pleased with how well the backlit keys work. Just pick up the remote and every key is beautifully backlit so that you can easily see them in darker rooms. The U2 remote feels premium, is easy to set up and use, and has other great features. The shape is ergonomic and comfortable to hold. The button layout is intuitive and you can easily switch devices by using the scroll wheel and OLED screen.Set up is a breeze with the Sofabaton smartphone app, it walks you through in straightforward steps. It allows you to pair 15 separate devices, which should be more than enough for most people's use cases. You can program seamlessly and quickly within the app if your remote is found in the large database, or if not, you can easily teach the Sofabaton specific IR commands by pointing the two remotes towards each other. The app also allows you to customize keys and create macros, if desired. Macros are very useful for allowing one button press to perform multiple actions, such as turning on your TV, soundbar, and streaming device with one click. You can program much more complex macros as well, so the possibilities are endless.I can easily recommend the Sofabaton U2 for anyone. For those that are not tech savvy, the user friendly app and easy set up will be appreciated. And for power users, the remote's versatility, wide compatibility, and macros are valued features. Simply put, it is the best universal remote on the market.

Sofabaton U2: The best replacement for the Logitech Harmony H665
I hope my review of the Sofabaton U2 will help others looking for a multi-device universal remote control that will work for people with physical limitations like myself. I'm a Quadriplegic with very little use of my fingers, wrists. I have a Hisense U7N TV with a Bluetooth connected remote, a STB & a Satellite box. Both of these remotes are connected via IR. Using the 3 remotes is next to impossible for me. My previous remote was the Logitech 665 remote for the last several years. Then Logitech discontinued them, I went looking for a suitable replacement. I believe the Sofabaton U2 is the closest I have found!Programming the Sofabaton U2 with the Sofabaton app was pretty straightforward. I did have to use the learning function on a few keys that weren't programmed directly via the app. *Please see Note below*After 5 days of use.Pro's:Fantastic Customer service! If I've had any questions they've responded back within 24 hours.Larger Raised Buttons!Easy to set-up "Macros" using the app. Macros allow you to combine multiple actions into 1 button.Con"s: Not rechargeable. It uses 2-AA Batteries. No Voice Control - No microphone on the remoteThe " Remote Learning" function can only be done by IR remote controls. But this is typical of most all universal remote controls.Neutral: No "Activity" buttons, only the "Scroll Wheel". The scroll wheel is used to select your devices instead of buttons. This is something I haven't seen on any other remote control's before.Note: It takes two hands to program the Sofabaton U2 remote. But it's easy to program with the app.it does help to have someone who has use of their hands & fingersConclusion: For me Sofabaton U2 is the closest remote to the Logitech 665 that I have found on the market today! The ability to combine 3 remotes into 1 is fantastic! The raised buttons make a great fit to work for my physical limitations. As a bonus it’s affordable!
