Because Illy ese pod prices seem to fluctuate and rise more thangasoline prices, I decided to try Caffe Mercanti. I found that not only was the price right,the flavor was too. The pods appear to be thicker than the illy pods. More coffee? or More losely packed?Either way, to me, it is as robust as Illy Intenso, but noticably smoother.It was about half the price of Illy when Illy is found at it's max discounted price.I'm glad i ordered it.

I was skeptical about buying a product with only five reviews, even if they were all 5 stars, but I took a chance and I was rewarded for it. I’ve been using cafe barbone for the last six months and it’s been wonderful but when I went to buy more I found there were new ese pods on the market and this one had 5 stars and was cheaper for the same amount. This coffee is so amazing, it has a rich full flavor that shines in a latte instead of being buried and makes amazing americanos. Best of all it’s amazing all by itself.

I love my morning espresso! I didn't like the time I spent grinding, pressing, making & cleaning every cup! I went towhere I knew I could find a quality "pod" and I DID! I love everything about these, PERIOD! quick, clean, economicaland the flavor is FANTASTIC! I have at least 2 cups every single morning except when we are not at home! Most ofthe time I will use a 20 oz. cup, pour in flavored creamer, pour in espresso and top off with coffee and you have awonderful start of the day! I thought I'd try it once and I've now ordered twice and will continue to order! Any company that we have is also amazed at the "quality" of the taste, EVERY SINGLE TIME! try it, you'll love it!thank you, God bless!

I have been buying the iLilly expresso pods and they taste wonderful, but were getting expensive so I bought this looking for a less expensive alternative. I am not sure what is up with all of the positive reviews but this was the most bitter, stale tasting coffee I have ever put in my mouth.....AND it's non-returnable so now I am stuck with an entire box of these nasty pods.

Maybe not the best but certainly a good value and lots of pods

I just switched from Lavazza ESE pods to these, prior to that was Illy and non pod espresso. They are definitely smoother with less bitterness than the Lavazza, they may be a lighter roast than the Lavazza or simply just better beans. Recently I bought a pound of blond espresso from Starbucks to compare, it was a waste of $12, I had to throw it away after about 10 shots. While some people say that the ESE pods take away from the flavor of the coffee or that they aren’t fresh, their palettes must be much more refined than mine. What is probably happening is that these larger coffee houses cannot maintain a steady supply of high quality coffee and over roast in order to cover up the larger amounts of Robusto they must use. Either way, this is my current favorite, try it.

We love our espresso’s. So much so, we enjoy 4-5 of these a day between my wife and I. The taste is perfect and the tea bag type pods are the only way to go. Of course, you pay for the convenience of not having to grind your own coffee. We order it by the case and it lasts us 3-4 months. The only way to go for us espresso lovers on a budget.

I normally don't review items, but these Oro ESE pods produce bitter Espresso. I use filtered water as with the other espressos I've been making for 2 years, with used 8-9 other 'brands' of ESE pods and all produced a decent espresso shot with good crema and most are very good. I've tried to like this coffee, but in my opinion it's bitter and the crema that it does produce is thin and vanishes within 15-20 seconds. I drink strong coffee and espresso so I ordered 2 boxes, so this 1-2/3 boxes (250 pods) ESE would only be used to make latte's and I drink espresso.
