Depending on the compressor and air horn you have, the answer is yes. The Solenoid opens and closes a valve on the compressor. You'll also need an extra rocker switch to run the air horn. You need one switch to turn on and off the compressor and additional switches for lockers, air hoses, air horns, etc. A sPOD is a great way to wire up multiple switches. Just make sure not to run the air line next to anything sharp or hot enough to melt it.

What size fitting is it?

ARB uses an 1/8 inch BSP fitting - just called their tech line. Amazon sells BSP to NPT, I went with Viair who sells 2 for $11.

How did you install the part. the threaded end inside the solenoid doesnt wwnt to turn and the rntite unit cnanot rotate as it hits the arb housing.

Not sure what to tell you. The threaded part DOES turn inside the main housing. You should be able to hold the housing still and put a wrench on the metal threaded part and tighten it into the ARB compressor.
