HIVIZ Mini Comp Shotgun Sight R/G/O

Don't let the smallness fool you. The green tube is very bright and works great in low light conditions. Much better than the stock front sight. Read the directions and take your time but this sight is easy to install. I've tried Truglo and others but this is my favorite front shotgun sight.

Good sight. Because it is small and has the hold-down screw more or less in the middle of the sight it mounts somewhat more securely than sights that mount on the end. The mounting screw also being in the center of a small sight allows for mounting it slightly right or left so it is basically an adjustable sight. I have two Mossberg 500 barrels that require this, one is drilled off-center by Mossberg and the other is an 18.5" short barrel from Mossberg that is drilled off center and also somehow shoots radically left (this one I have the sight mounted at about 30 degrees, looks bad but now is possible to actually use the sight). I used epoxy to bed both sights in. Using the sights as adjustable is a bit of a hassle as it is hard to get the light tube in and out to try it at one angle, change it and retry to get it right; however on the bright side, the sight really retains the light tube. The sight is also quite low so it does not alter the pattern up and down like the massive floppy junk clip-on sights do. The only downside to the sight is that the light tube is short so can only gather so much light, however if it were long you would not be able to get much adjustment from it.

We really like using these sights. We've put them on all of our shotguns now.

Needs a screw-in type bead mount. Remington uses a press-in.

First of all, I installed it on my Benelli Nova 12 gauge. The sight is small but will do the trick. My sight came with the orange pipe installed and appears to be bright enough. I haven't taken it out hunting yet. Second, it's a little hard to get the pipe out of the receiver to install the screw on the barrel. I had to use small needle nose pliers which damaged the orange pipe a little but not enough to notice. Once I got the pipe out, it was a guessing game on which of the five screws to use. On my second guess, I hit pay dirt and was able to get it screwed in. It looks like it will last since it's low profile and won't get knocked off. Sight looks like it was made for my Benelli!

Follow the instructions, I have large fingers but was still able to get the screw put in. It did take me several tries needed lots of light. Yes it is very small but perfectly sufficient. While pheasant hunting I was able to easily see the green dot at the end of my barrel. I previously had magnetic sites, actually lost two of them and decided it’s time to go is something that I screw into place.

Very easy to install, well made and nice and bright. Have this same sight installed one two shotguns and will be installing one on my third as well.

One of the included screws worked for my CZ Mallard 20 gauge O/U. Does not capture as much light as a longer HVIZ I have on my Beretta A300, but a significant improvement over the stock bead, for less $$$ than a longer one. Installed with medium strength loc-tite. Very nice.
