Signals a return to hospitality and elegance. Nice (but too shiny) gold Turkish coffee set. This is an elegant, highly decorated Turkish coffee set. After being served Turkish coffee once while on business in Moscow I immediately knew this was a treat I'd been missing my whole life. I asked the server "what is this?" even after I'd been asked if I wanted coffee. If this was coffee then I 'd never had coffee my entire life and I had to know, "really, what is this?" When they smiled and explained a little about Turkish coffee I began to understand why I'd felt cheated by other coffees. The flavor was incomparable to the others. The presentation, while not as fancy as this set implies, was more special and lended itself to a warmer sense of hospitality and welcome.When I saw this item available for review through the Vine program I immediately knew I'd love to try it. I struggled to pick the correct color/finish offered as none of them truly appealed to my sense of style. Generally I've found many foreign, esp European and Asian, decorative products too ornate for my taste and this was no different. I did choose the gold however bc I felt it was probably closest to what you'd most likely see in an elegant Turkish home. It's super shiny (I may even try to use the rub on & buff product to dull it down slightly and give it a tad less shine), it's a bit weighty - which gives me more confidence in its quality, and is a complete set.I've now watched a few videos online about where to purchase the best, most recommended and still affordable T coffee, the rituals of serving this the proper way to be most respectful of your guests, and who in the family is the one who should serve it. This is all such a delight to learn of this area of the worlds beautiful cultural traditions. Its one I think should be appreciated and looked into more in an attempt to slow down, enjoy true conversations, and relax with friends and family.The little white cups (similar in size to espresso cups) are easy to clean, the holders hold the cups securely, the saucers match and just complete the whole atmosphere an the tray is generous and stable. You also get a matching, lidded, sugar container. The bottom is stamped both in Turkish and English that it was made in Turkey. The size of it all is appropriate to other coffee serve ware of this style coffee. While the shiny finish is gaudy to me I can appreciate that its just one I'm not as familiar as seeing. I look forward to sharing this with my family and friends on special occasions.
