Works just as described. Also the drivers for it are on the waveshare website.
Works just as described, used it for modbus 485 for a PLC I was working on, some of the reviews say the computer drivers didn't come with the product, they're on the companies website.

Nice isolated USB to TTL (and other) port interface
Needed a way of connecting to a 3.3V CMOS serial port on an STM32 based board without causing a ground loop with another computer connected to another serial port on the same board. Did the job.

Only provides RS232 RX/TX/GND
If you need any other serial IO lines, you're out of luck. If you only need RX/TX/GND, it works great.

Amazing that for this price you get true isolation. i.e. avoids problems with ground loops / ground level shifts between devices. I opened the case and looked at the circuit board, it has a DC-DC isolator for the power as well as the expected isolation barrier for the signals. The board had a very clear cut-out / clearance trench where the isolation is from the USB side over to the serial connector side. (the serial connectors RS-232/RS-485 are not isolated from each other, but that is fine since it is only intended to use one of those at a time. The point is that this is a USB host to serial adaptor, so the USB/PC is isolated.)Besides that, the FTDI USB/serial port chipset is pretty easy to install in Windows (Microsoft recognizes and automatically downloads driver.) So far all 3 interfaces (RS-232, RS-485, TTL, all worked well for me.) I expect to use TTL for devices like Raspberry Pi that doesn't bother with transceivers.

Solid USB to RS485 converter
This converter has never let me down connecting to tons of different pieces of industrial equipment. Incredible value for the price. It is isolated to protect your computer from transients or high power that may get dumped on the RS485 line. It is based off the proven FTDI FT232RL chipset which is widely supported. There is also a jumper inside to enable the RS485 120ohm termination resistor if needed which surprisingly is not listed in the detailed hardware data on Waveshares website.
