In fact, if you're considering using this anywhere upstream of the amplifier, be aware it *will* pick up interference, which your amplifier will boost to audible levels.This cable should probably only be used between an amplifier and your passive speakers with TR jacks.I switched my mixer to one that supports balanced XLR output and am using XLR cables now to drive my powered speakers and the loud hum is gone.

Great for spreading my speakers out just the length I need to be able to play most anywhere.
