Add Easy-To-Grasp Hardware To This Cover
Overall, this is a great item to reheat food in a microwave oven. However, as some feedback has mentioned, there is inadequate depth to grasp the cover and lift it off the plate or container of food. To remedy that problem, use the following materials and steps to install Nylon hardware as an easy way to lift the cover. Nylon is both dishwasher and microwave safe. See the two attached photos for reference. For two covers, you will need a power drill, a 3/16-inch drill bit, (2) Menard's #2017761, 10-24 X 1 inch Nylon binding head machine screw; (4) Menard's #2017868, 10-24 Nylon hex nuts; 3/8-inch open-end wrench, slotted screwdriver. Total cost of the Nylon hardware is approximately $3 U.S. You may also obtain the Nylon hardware from other sources. Note the hex nut fits snugly in place between the two half-moon shaped areas.1) Fully collapse the cover, and turn it over so the bottom is facing up. 2) Place a piece of scrap wood under the cover so that when the drill bit breaks through the cover material, it will not cause damage to any underlying surface. 3) Drill a through-hole in the center of the cover and remove any burrs. 4) Thread one hex nut onto the binding head screw until it is close to the screw head. 5) Insert the screw threads through the drilled hole from the top of the cover so the threads protrude beyond the two half-moon shaped depressions on the underside of the cover. 6) Thread the second hex nut onto the exposed screw threads until about 3/16-inch of the screw threads are showing beyond the nut. 7) Orient the nut so that it just fits between the two half-moon shaped depressions, and push the bottom of the screw up between the two half-moon shaped depressions. You may need to use the screwdriver to adjust the length of the exposed screw. 8) While holding the nut and screw in place on the bottom side of the cover, thread the other hex nut down until it is snugly against the top of the cover. 9) Use the 3/8-inch open-end wrench to tighten the top hex nut. 10) To adjust the length of the screw on the top of the cover, use the wrench and screwdriver to loosen the hardware, make the adjustment, and then tighten the hardware.

Would not buy again. Great idea but design flaw.
Indentation where fingers are supposed to be able to pick lid up woefully inadequate. Way too shallow so have to grab the sides instead to remove. Steam builds up under covers and can burn if picked up by sides from drips so be careful. Did well in dishwasher.

Too hot to handle
This is a review of: Collapsible Microwave Cover for Food Microwave splatter cover,Dishwasher Safe,BPA Free,10.5 inch, greyThis splatter covers do their job as expected; however, they are impossible for me to pick up. My fingers cannot grasp the small handle on top. Their diameter just covers my dinner plates. I do like their collapsible feature. They seem to retain heat and steam more than other similar products. However, because I cannot lift them from the top and must pick them up grabbing both sides, I cannot recommend this product. This review was written by LynKin

Disappointed/dissatisfied
First use it got extremely hot to where I had to grab pot holders to get it out. It was only in there for 2 mins. Also its not tall enough to use with out getting food on it when you place it over the plate.Over all dissatisfied especially for the price.

Finger grip on top is too shallow, have to remove it by the edges. Does fit over everything its been used with.

Great Microwave Companion
We try to reuse, recycle at our house as much as possible, but one thing we couldn't seem to get away from was using a paper towel to cover our food in the microwave. I hate the splatters and have to cook things covered, but we hated wasting a paper towel every time. I saw these and thought they were worth a try, and they have been great! They store flat, so I just keep it tucked next to the side of the microwave, pop it out and put it over the food. If the bowl is too tall, we still use this cover and just rest it on the bowl. They can be a little tough to pop open and close at first, but they loosen up as they are used. They clean up super easily. I haven't even had to run it through the dishwasher yet. I just rinse it quickly in the sink while it is still warm, and splatters come right off. Easy enough to train a husband to use these ;-)

Great Time For Optimism
Four Stars since it is likely they will be fine. However, any packages I receive these days spend at least one week in isolation - then they are disinfected and carefully opened wearing gloves. Then the contents spend another week in isolation. Some minor inconvenience, but I would rather act on the side of caution for the immediate future. Everyone be safe, we will get thru this fine if we take some simple steps to curtail the spread. Have confidence, this Nation will be fine. Help your neighbors, maybe pray if that's your desire, or just clean house - Thank You & GB..

LIGHT WEIGHT AND VERSATILE
This is the smartest thing I have bought in awhile. It can be used as a strainer in addition to keeping the microwave splatter free. I use it to rinse fruit and vegetables or to hold peels when preparing them. It functions well in the microwave and holds up to the heat. I also like having a spare too, although it appears that it is well made enough to last for quite awhile. I would definitely buy again.
