Fowler FOW74-102-006 Electronic Caliper (AutoCal 6" Fractional)

Accurate repeatable measurements. Very smooth caliper function. Jaws fit together perfectly. Clear display. Fairly easy to read from most angles and in dim light. Display is not backlit but that doesn't appear to be an issue. I don't have to re-zero when I power it back up. It remembers where it was and it knows where it is now if I moved it while it was powered off. I like that feature that I don't have to re-zero it and do the measurement all over again if it powered down while I was working. IP54 rated, (that was not disclosed in the web description). Ships with 2 three volt lithium CR2032 batteries. Only one battery required. A one inch recalibration block and extra battery cover was included. Although the extra battery cover did not include the water proof seal in my sample. I haven't owned it long enough to comment on battery life.It feels well made and I like it. I use Mitutoyo at work and this pretty much matches it in accuracy. The build quality’s not the same but then again it cost almost 3 times less. Time will tell and I'll update about its reliability and durability as needed.

I purchased this to ensure accuracy on projects I'm turning on my lathe. My son utilizes this tool in school and recommended it. I'm a total rookie, but this thing is great. Feels solid and well-built. Has worked flawlessly for my purposes. Would highly recommend.

I use these at work in a mostly automated machine shop.They seem to be as accurate as some of the big name calipers we also have.I feel if you take care of these they would last the hobbiest or anyone looking for a good set of digitals.

First impressions are good. Came with a 1in standard and it was dead nuts on the money. Even tested it on a Starrett Guage block and all good. I do recommend zeroing it everytime you turn it on (which is why the 4 star on accuracy) which you should do anyway. It's repeatable throughout the range also. Is it a mitutoyo no. Will it last as long as one, we'll see but so far so good.

Second one I bought, it’s great! Also have a Fowler digital but it doesn’t have the fractional on it. All are great tools. This new Auto-Cal came with 2 batteries (only one needed to power tool) and a 25 mm calibration cylinder, though I’m not sure you can calibrate it yourself, I guess the cylinder is just to check if your tool is accurate at that measurement. Would definitely recommend and I will buy Fowler again!

Excellent product for the price. Quick, easy to use and read measurements. Accurate according to specs. Not hard to measure twice if you have doubt. Batteries included as well as a calibration pin for measurement upon opening. I would recommend purchase.

Thy work flawless. Great accuracy. Don’t like that they don’t have auto turn on when you pick them up or move slide
