By far the best method for trombonists!
This has always been the gold standard for trombonists. I have my first copy that is about 50 years old, but as I get back to playing following my retirement, decided on this edition for two reasons. I like the spiral bound for ease of page turning and keeping it flat on the music stand, but mainly, I wanted the notes by renowned trombonist, Mr. Alessi. Having been a long time NY Philharmonic subscriber, I have had the chance to hear his wonderful playing so many times and its great to read his comments on the best way to practice and use the Arban material. While you can get the basic Arban for Trombone method for a few bucks less, if you are a serious player, recommend you buy this edition while you can...you wont regret it!

Perfect book for everyday practice! Love it!
Love it. It is perfect for a euphonium or trombone player that is has experience with many different notes, rhythms, and tempos. It is kind of a big investment, but it's perfect for an advanced player at a high school level or above. I definitely recommend that you purchase this book as a daily practice. However, if you do't really practice constantly need this much material, they also sell a shorter version with most of the general information. This book was very well written and perfect for every euphonium player out there.I've also included a link for the shorter version New American Edition: Arban's Complete Conservatory Method for Trumpet (Cornet) or Eb Alto, Bb Tenor, Baritone, Euphonium and Bb Bass in Treble Clef [ 1936 ] (Arban's original and complete method, the art of phrasing (150 songs and operatic airs), sixty-eight duets for two cornets, fourteen characteristic studies, numerous fantasies and other solos, Newly Revised Authentic Edition)

Almost perfect...
The book was recommended by my son’s teacher. It’s very comprehensive and definitely will help him become the musician he wants to be. I only hope it lasts him a long time since it’s pretty expensive. The quality of the cover is rather flimsy and the way he drags he likes to take his music everywhere has me thinking he’s gonna need another one before he finishes high school...

Happy to see the nicely revised edition by East Texas ...
My son is learning the euphonium and showing some skill. I worked my way through Arban's for the Trumpet back in the 1960s when I was a student playing that instrument. Happy to see the nicely revised edition by East Texas euphonium virtuouso Dr. Brian Bowman (check out his rendition of "Flight of the Bumblebee" on YouTube to hear that this accolade is richly deserved) is still doing the job for kids today. If you have a budding musician in your family, in the low brass family, this is the book for them!

I would have liked to have seen this book made with heavier stock ...
My son loves this book, but it arrived a little bit damaged. The covers are not of a durable quality. I would have liked to have seen this book made with heavier stock or cardboard-like covers to protect the huge amount of pages held together by the spiral. He really needed the book two months ago, and he uses it at every lesson, so I don't have time to send it back. I'm now thinking of ways to make this book last longer. Laminate?
