Sloths Don't Run

Perfect Gift for a NICU Baby
I am very hesitant to buy books that I don’t know anything about online. The reviews sold me that the book’s storyline would be fitting for our friend’s son’s first birthday party. And boy were they right!! He was born several months early at only 1 lb and his “spirit animal” has been a sloth from day one. I can’t tell you how absolutely PERFECT this book was! I read through it once before gifting it and cried my eyes out. The writing style is good and the story is just perfect. I highly recommend it if you have a child or know a child who would be encouraged that finishing the race is more important than if you come in first or last place.

Such a Great Message!
Confession: I don't have kids and I still loved this children's book. I've definitely found my new go-to book for baby showers because I can't wait to gift this beautiful book to my expecting friends. The story has a fantastic message about making goals and working hard to achieve them. I also love how it shows you shouldn't be beholden to the expectations of others and be true to yourself. On top of that, the illustrations are stunning with cute animals and vibrant backgrounds. I look forward to reading this to all the little ones in my life over the years.

Even if it Can't Win, Should a Sloth Enter a Race Anyway?
Sloths Don't Run has been formatted to be read in landscape mode (holding your device horizontally), where it takes up the entire screen. Words and pictures display together on the screen like a traditional picture book open to two pages. A lot of self published Kindle authors can't be bothered to format their work and it displays like a mess with bits of text on one page and an image on a small part of the screen on another, so I always like to take the time to point out when authors care about their reader's experience and their own work enough to take the time to format it.Basically a sloth admires Cheetahs and other animals that are active, and asks a butterfly what it thinks of an idea to try and join them. There's a race coming up and it is determined to compete.

Inspire yourself and your kids with what it means to lace up your 4 sneakers and try your best
The author was able to touch on what it means to get off your tree, train so very hard and revel in the simple victory of finishing a good race. I share these life values with my kids and family all the time. Now that I have Hank and Dee so wonderfully illustrated I can pass on these lessons with this book. If you choke up a bit; you are in good company.

What a wonderful story! Please write more!
I absolutely loved this book! My brother and sister-in-law are avid runners and expecting their first baby in a month. I purchased the book for my nephew’s first book collection and was so touched by the story. I plan to read it to him many times over and secretly, I’ll be reminding myself the very special message too. Definitely getting copies for other friends with kiddos!!!!

Deep and Adorable!
If I didn't already adore Sloths, this book would have made me love them. The illustrations in this book are small works of art the sloth is too adorable to fully describe.I love this story and its message. It's "The Little Engine that Could" and "The Tortoise and the Hare" all over again, but this time the ending is a bit more realistic and no less wonderful.I really enjoyed this book.Highly recommended.

OK Children's Book
Perhaps I expected too much from this book. My grandchildren will look through it occasionally but don't like it read to them often. Possibly best appreciated by toddlers willing to explore the colorful pictures, but the storyline does not seem to engage children a year or so older.

Sweet Story & Adorable Illustrations
This is a great story for little ones! The illustrations are wonderful, and the story is so heart-warming. It would also make a great gift for a runner or triathlete who has a soft spot for sloths!
