Double Cuttlebone

GREAT SIZE FOR SMALLER BIRDS
I live rurally and was having no luck finding smaller sized cuttle bones locally. So glad I checked Amazon. My 5 Bourkes ( same size as parakeets) love these. They connect to the sides of the cage easily. One of two is usually broken ( Ive ordered this several times now) but that is not a problem for me. I just use the pieces on at a time. The birds dont seem to care if one is shorter than the other. Good quality for a fair price. These are great and I highly recommend for smaller birds.

The birds love them. But they were much smaller then I expected.
They were fine just s.aller then I thought they would be.

For my turtle
I use my thumbnail to push into both sides to determine which side is the soft side. I then use a sharp knife to chip away the hard backing and dispose of it. I feed about a quarter of one cuttlebone to my turtle.

Cuttlebones
I found these cuttlebones to be on the old side as they were already turning brownish-yellow, when they should have been pure white.

You need this if you own a bird
As advertised, came unbroken.

Ok, so I know I chose the 4-7 inch cuddle bone so I expected little ones. I looked all over 3 pet stores and 1 Walmart during covid and everyone was out so I had to resort to these. First off, they were very expensive! Two in a pack for over $8.00 (Walmart has 1 per box when in stock for $1.32) When they arrived I thought they were broke in half. Neither one was over 2 inches and both were very thin. Really disappointing! Bird went through one in one day. The ones I normally get last a month.Wont be buying again no matter how much the bird begs me.

Real Cuttlebone
I have given up ordering loose cuttlebone and now buy packaged ones like these. At least I know what I'm getting. Most importantly I know it is real.
