This a Powerful Life Changing Program
The SHIFT is a combination of guided hypnosis, instruction and support by the author Rita Black. I participated in in this journey before the book came out and I can say this works! Having always been a yo yo dieter Rita was able to help me change the way I thought about weight and guide me from "dieting to Shifting". Rita and this program were a Godsend and I place her in such high regard as an angel in my life. With the tools that are given to you hypnosis, the book, online support and additional down loadable material you are able to focus and learn what is important to you. Through these techniques I was able to quiet my mind from the obsessing over my weight and food and learn what my triggers are and how to deal with it.I lose weight slowly so it has always been hard to stay with a "diet"and not get frustrated and give up but with Rita's steps and support I managed to lose 25 lbs, feel great and get my confidence back and thrive by "Shifting". If you are truly looking for a program this is it, Rita takes you through her personal journey and it's so enlightening you can't help wanting to make the journey as well.

Change the way you think and feel good about the life you're living
If you invest the time and energy into going through this process, you will absolutely transform your relationship with exercise and food. There's no magic bullet to weight loss, and the quick fixes, powders, fad diets are bound to do more harm than good, but Rita sets you on a path to success through a careful examination of triggers, emotions, and healthy habits.I'm so grateful that I've had the opportunity to work with Rita and go to her directly for counseling after reading the book. Before the shift process, I would come home from work and mindlessly wander around the kitchen, looking for something eat - not because I was hungry, but because I was bored, and had conditioned myself for that "I made it through the work day reward". Even as a former D1 athlete, I didn't really enjoy going to the gym, and I often struggled to make healthy food choices (especially when stressed).Fast forward to 2 months after the Shift process and I don't go for the fridge, or the jar of peanut butter when I come from work. I eat a healthy balanced dinner and don't stress eat - instead drinking a water/tea and going for a quick walk. I still make mistakes, but these aren't the end of the world and thanks to Rita, I don't let them derail my day, my week, my month, or my life.In the past 2 months, I've released 10 lbs, began working out 4 days a week consistently, and changed my relationship with food. I'd recommend this book to anyone that's looking for a lifestyle change and a healthier outlook on life.

Rita's book exceeded my expectations; I am releasing weight, my blood sugar has gone down and I am changing many eating habits.Rita's book was the missing link to my weight loss.Thank you Rita for writing this book that has helped me learned about my eating habits; about my thinking and how to shift to a healthy weight release process.

While there are some good concepts…
I was really disappointed in the hypnosis portion. Like Rita, I too quite smoking 42 years ago using hypnosis. At that time, each session began with an extended period as the hypnotist spoke with the intent to achieve a very deep, relaxed state before suggestions addressed to the unconscious were made. Rita dives right into the suggestions immediately after identifying herself and explaining what she’s the founder of which is annoying because I already know that. The book contains helpful concepts but I downloaded hypnosis sessions from other providers which were much more helpful.

Rita Black’s program has given me the most success in creating a healthy long term lifestyle change versus another crash diet. Through this book and Rita’s “shift” process, she creates a change in your mindset to not just prohibit yourself from the things you love and crave but to rethink how we approach a healthy lifestyle through balance. This ultimately creates a change in the way you live instead of just a short term solution. I love the way Rita frames a new way of thinking through practical solutions and small steps. The book is great in terms of walking someone who is completely new to trying to lose weight to seasoned “dieters” to just try to think differently. Her hypnosis and meditation reiterate these positive messages and it feels like Rita really supports and walks your through the wonderful Shift process. It is easy to follow and she never lets you feel like you have “failed” and “you’ll just start again Monday.” The process is bigger than just a short term plan and just shifts your brain to make you want to change the way you live for the long term.

Cravings are gone
I lost 10% of my weight loss goal in the first week!! I’m more intentional with my food choices, don’t get hungry as often, and my cravings are almost non-existent (even during my cycle! I used to eat bags of chocolate and full pints of ice cream. I don’t even want them now!) I was skeptical of the idea of hypnosis because of confirmation bias, but it really has helped me focus. I always look forward to my morning meditation
