I bought this so I could attach some paracord to it and add it to my hiking bag. I was not aware that the light green buckles are glow in the dark, even though looking at the amazon product picture now, it looks like something that would glow in the dark. It was a neat surprise.I was hesitant because the price is low, so I thought it would be cheap and maybe the compass wouldn't actually work, but the compass works great.The plastic is sturdy and secure as well. I made a paracord dog collar using this buckle and it still works great.The whistle is a great pitch and volume, and can definitely be heard from very far away.The flint striker can slide out when the buckle is open and you can actually get a good spark from striking the flint.If you want a small multitool, buy this. I also recommend making a paracord accessory with it, because paracord + this buckle = survival gold.

These do spark enough to light tinder. They do not glow in the dark although they are advertised as "luminous." The whistle works great. I would not bet my life on the compass.

Great buckles. Good size. Had to adjust bracelet lengths due to buckle size but worked good.Gave it as a gift.

It's bigger than you expect. First thing I did was test the fire starter. Takes a few strikes since you have to scrape off the coating before it starts to spark. Made a massive bracelet with it and it's great.

Whistle and fire starter work well (flint has a coating which must be removed before it sparks). Compass points in the general direction (most times), but is overall unreliable and has variable bubble sizes inside the fluid.

Used this for paracord bracelets for the grand kids for when we are camping in the mountains.

Compass is a pain to level. Buckle is very bulky.
