Great Cutting Board Made In USA
Look great, feel great. And much lighter than the other ‘celebrity chef cutting board’ which is too big and heavy like a cast iron pot. I also bought coconut oil and will be ready to use this board once the board is oiled and dried. The other brand’s secret oil contains mineral oil even though it’s ’food grade’ I think I better use the one only contains coconut oil.

Great purchase
I purchased the board because I was gifted an expensive chefs knife. In efforts to maintain the sharpness of the knife, I read a softer board would do it. I love it!! It’s almost become my hobby to oil and wax the board. It is my main board and always out on my counter for jobs big and small.

Excellent board.
Excellent cutting board. Needs to be treated with TLC and protective oils applied before and during use.

It's a really beautiful board, but heavily flawed
I want to preface this review by saying how much I really wanted to love this board. It's beautiful once it is seasoned and the size is perfect having a large area to work on, whether for prep work, dough kneading, or even carving meat. However, the production quality really soured the experience for me. Once I did have the board seasoned (and I seasoned it, both sides, multiple times over several days using Boos Mystery Oil and Wood Cream) the issues quickly became apparent. As noted in another review, the juice grooves are not sanded. This wasn't a deal-breaker for me. What was a deal-breaker is that right after the first use, the surface of the board started splintering. I was wiping off tons of fibers from the surface just drying the thing. Those fibers would have easily made it into food if I hadn't done something about it.That was annoying but I figured it was a good opportunity to get some sandpaper and smooth out the groove and edges. I sanded down the surface with 220 grit sandpaper, reseasoned it, and the same thing happened two washes later. I figured maybe I hadn't done enough, and proceed to sand and season it yet again. The board was fine for about 3 uses this time until it started to offer more splinters while being dried off. On top of that, despite having hand-dried it every time I used it, it started warping after two weeks of use. The board will not sit flush with my counter and rocks while it is being used.I initiated a return thinking I had just received a bad sample. It happens, right? I can't fault the company for a bad unit, it's the nature of production. The second board I received was shipped alone in a box with some packing paper on one side of the box (whereas the first was shipped within its own Virginia Boys box and had some paperwork). Right as I took off the wrapping, I immediately noticed several gouges on the board and a crack running over an inch on the bottom.Like I said before, I really wanted to love this board and I was excited to have it in my kitchen. However, the following weeks of use and inconsistency in quality across the boards were major letdowns. Maybe I'm unlucky and got two bad examples, but I am disappointed, to say the least.

Beautiful Cutting Board
I am really pleased with this cutting board. It is sturdy and I love the quality of the wood. I have not used it yet. I applied the oil but I still have to wax it.

Also buy board oil
The cutting board looks nice, exactly as described. However, the instructions say they recommend a coat of board oil before the first use and daily for the first week. There is nowhere in the description of the product that states this. Now I am waiting for the oil to arrive before I can use my cutting board. I would recommend this information either be in the description or perhaps include a small starter oil with the board. Perhaps other users, commenting on splintering and warping did not read the care maintenance instructions prior to using the board.
