Envy is a dangerous emotion
Envy is the second novel in Victoria Christopher Murray's Seven Deadly Sins series, and it does not disappoint. Keisha, one of the main characters is as deceptive as it gets. She's so good at it you forget that she is young, naive and a victim of her mother's lifestyle choices. The envy of her newly acquainted sister's success causes her to do some devious things that threaten the very foundation of everything her sister has worked so hard to build. There are moments where I am rooting for Keisha and others where my mouth just drops in amazement. One of the things I especially love about this book is how the author delves into the difference between envy and jealously and how redemption is available to all. Another great read in this series.

Loves to Read
All I can say is WOW! This book was different from anything I’ve ever read. A woman who has lived a hard life, without even knowing it. Then she gets befriended by her family, who gives her love and shows her love but she is only out to get what she can. Her family never really knows about her past life until it’s too late, but once they find out (after all the evil she plots against them), they still show love, compassion and forgiveness to her. As a Christian, it really made me examine myself to really think about what real, agape, love is. Outstanding book! Hoping Ms. Murray will keep these characters and their lives in her upcoming books.

Holds Your Interest
I enjoyed reading this book. I liked the Father daughter Bond between Gabrielle and Elijah. Gabrielle was very accepting and excited about learning of her sister. The family unit of the marriage and the way the couple truly desired each other emotionally and physically as well as their faith. I liked the sister-friend relationship as well as the story of true friends that are successful entrepreneurs. While I understand Keisha's role what I did not like was that she was dishonest from the beginning when she knew about her sister. Nor, didI like that her first thought was to take from her sister without giving the relationship a true chance. I thought Gabrielle was to accepting and inviting Keisha into her home, work. Etc. Gabrielle was very naive as she is portrayed as a smart, educated, successful business women. It seemed odd that she so quickly distrusted her life long best friend when it was evident that somethings did not add up. Additionally, she heard and ignored the reference her sister made about Bella being her daughter as well as how quickly she allowed her to be with her alone. Never questioning her comment. Overall, another successful novel and a page turner. It kept my curiosity so much so that I stayed up way past my bed time to finish this book. I am looking forward to the movie :-).

Pageturner
All I can say is wow. The Keisha character really tested me. I still don't know how I feel about her. The story is very good the differences in the way the sisters were raised is njght and day. I think Gabrielle was very naive to things but who would think that way? This is a great series.

Shocked
I LOVE VCM, but this book left a LOT of unanswered questions. They NEVER allowed for Gabrielle to find out about Keisha and allow us to experience it. It was NOT adequately addressed. Was she still working with Justus? No one EVER heard her being addressed as Mama by Bella? Nothing ever happened to the dirty school teacher? Did Buck get caught? So many others. I don't think I'll read the next one.

Different From What I Expected
I am a fan of Victoria Christopher Murray. This book was a little slow to me. It took a long time to get to the point and fully understand the main characters. The book wasn’t what I expected, but I made it through. There was a message in the writing.

Always delivering a winner
Gabrielle started to annoy me a bit, she had the warning signs herself and her best friend told her about the lies Keisha kept dishing out. I understand Gabrielle wanting to embrace her sister as she should have, but she shouldn’t have been brushing the signs under the carpet. My favorite character was Regan, smart , strong and classy. I thought the ending of this book was going to piss me off, but I was pleased with it and the sentencing . I can’t wait for the next installment of this series.
