Great product with great product support
I purchased this iron in 2023 and it is a great one with all the right features. However, in 2025 it kept turning off probably due to a faulty wire. I figured I was on my own since it had been almost 2 years since I purchased it. Well, I decided to contact the company and was surprised that agreed to replace it without any fuss. After sending some pictures and a few emails they shipped me a new one Fed Ex. Within one week I had a new one and it works perfectly. Apparently, it has a 7year limited warranty!

Excellent curling iron by a great company.
Hot Tools is a known professional brand. I trust their products. Temp control buttons are placed where you can't accidentally hit them. No more changing heat settings by accident. Great looking, smooth curls. Professional thick cord.

Burned off hair and shorted out
Maybe I just got a defective curling iron. After buying a 1 1/2 inch iron of the same make from Ulta, I decided I wanted a 1 inch, and Ulta was out. As usual, I turned to trusty Amazon, and the iron arrived two days later. After hearing the iron on 320 - my normal heat setting - I coated my hair with heat protectant, dried it on low heat, and sectioned out some hair. Over the last few months, I've been on a crusade to improve the health of my hair due to well water at my house, and this is one of the only times in my life I have used a curling iron. I'm terrified of heat damage, and I intentionally bought the iron most suggested by the Ulta store manager to decrease any heat damage, along with the recommended heat protectant. As soon as the hair was rolled, I noticed that it began to smoke, and I immediately pulled the hair off. Too late. The entire clump of hair was burned and fell into the sink. Over the next half hour, I snipped out as many of the burnt hair ends as I could from my good hair, leaving a patch on the side snipped off halfway up the hair. I left the curling iron plugged in and tried to troubleshoot. Within five minutes I noticed that the iron was no longer heating. The only thing I can figure is that the iron shorted out, causing a heat surge, and then but the dust entirely. Under NO circumstances would I buy this product from Amazon, and I am going to thoroughly investigate before EVER buying another hot tools product. In fact, the possibility that this is an Amazon issue calls into question for me whether I should continue to buy from Amazon - and I am a diehard Amazon user. What the heck, Amazon??
