I learned a very long time ago that every gun you buy will have a preference for a certain ammo. Ammo varies by manufacturer and depends on bullet weight, shape (hollow point, soft nose, etc.) powder used, and velocity. It doesn't matter if it's a .22lr or a "Big Fifty", each type of ammo will provide you with various degrees of accuracy. You have to buy several different types of ammunition to determine what works best in YOUR gun. Only then should you stock up on the best ammo that works for you.While I haven't owned a pellet/BB gun since I was about 10 years old, a recent problem we've been having with varmints seemed to be best solved by buying a Crossman 1377 pump style pistol. My intent was not to kill or injure the varmints, but to simply "reach out and touch" them to encourage them to move along. A pump adjustable air rifle utilizing a heavy pellet would seem to offer the right combination of accuracy with nonlethal intent.When reading the reviews of the Crossman pistol I noticed that some of the users were having great success with the RWS Superdome .177 8.3 grain pellets. I decided to order a box of these as well as boxes of three other types of pellets. The cost was not important to me since all I needed to do was to sight in the pistol and then use it only occasionally. Of the four types of pellets, the RWS in combination with my new pistol (with a mounted reflex sight) gave me the accuracy and consistency I needed.Since this combination proved to be effective in dealing with my particular varmint problem, I decided to pump up the power and use it to kill some of the river rats that had been nesting under the hoods of our cars. After testing the potential power of the pistol on a few different types of wood, I realized that "rat kabobs" could be in our future. I would rather be eating the rats than have them eating the wiring in our cars. So I created a nice little shooting spot on our driveway, left on the overhead lights at night, and eliminated our second problem. The score stands at Rats -0-, Me -6-. Another problem solved.

Best Pellets for Umarex Air Rifles. These Seem to be the best when matched with their rifles. I have tried a few others and these gave best results with my Umarex air rifle.

I use these with my Gamo Hornet. Very accurate and will take out a squirrel wit one shot! I tried several other brands of pellet but none preformed as well as the RWS Superdome.

RWS Superdome's are all that I will shoot in my Whisper Silent Cat. No others will group like these do - believe me, I've tried several brands.

I use so many makes of pellets ,and I have found these rws superdome are one of my best buys. I have a collection of air guns and finding theRight pellets for the right gun can be a nightmare,not all air pellets are suitable for my air guns ,but so far the rws superdome 177 pellets areCompatable with with most of my guns.

Compared to other .177 ammo for my Sig Sauer MCX, this kept on getting jammed in the gun.The quality of them is good, and they are of consistently good shape, though not for my gun.

I get through a lot of pellets of various makes. These Superdome have proved the most accurate and consistent in performance. I use a BSA Goldstar and a Walther Rotex with these pellets
